What do you mean Eggman can’t do that? Almost every boss that was in Sonic Heroes was piloted by an Eggman robot that looked exactly like him. And Aizen uses a form of hypnosis, while Eggman builds Android copies. Their different things there.

Well if they are sending in their armies it wouldn’t be out of the question for Eggman to do something like that in the first place. And everything was built by Eggman, it just that Metal Sonic took over. Also either Metal Sonic decided to work for Eggman again or Eggman reprogrammed him because Metal Sonic worked under Eggman for all of Sonic Rivals 2.

Sonic Rivals 2 isn’t canonical.
Its story contradicts Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (Main storyline) and Sonic Rush about the existence of Eggman Nega and Blaze.
