we should drop a fucking nuke, we have like 12000 of them and have never used any. the nuke worked for japan, scared the shit out of them and ended ww2. even if its just dropping one in a desert to warn them of impending doom it will be effective. just imagine your neighbor is throwing rocks at your house, one of the rocks hits you yard and leaves a big fucking hole, you’re going to be scared for your house right about then.

Not so much cowards as being under so much deliberation.
The US is the only world superpower since the Soviet Union fell apart. The eyes of the world are on the US, waiting for even the slightest thing wrong.
So we don’t have a lot of leg room.
The US drops a nuke on Iraq, we get half the world declaring war on us.
And besides, your tactics couldn’t work. We aren’t fighting Iraq. We’re fighting individuals within Iraq. They are not part of any government or military. A lot aren’t even part of Al-Qaeda. They’re insurgents. They won’t ever give up. All the US needs to do is set up a decent military (which, admittedly, is taking too long) so that the Iraqi military can do for themselves what the US is doing now.

But it wouldn’t make them stop. It would give them further reason to continue.
If someone dropped a nuke on your country and your children, and your children’s children all suffered for it, you’d hate the people that did it. You’d want to kill them.
So it just adds to the problem.

The scary part is that I bet if you took this idea to the American public far too many would be like “ya! that’s a great idea!"
Anyway, radiation is not fun and the Western world has fucked up enough of the environment and peoples livelihoods playing with them bombs, its fairly understood now that you don’t want to go messing with that stuff. We’ve come a long way from “hide under your desk to save yourself” I don’t think it wise to regress.
All of which says nothing about the social and political ridiculousnesses of the whole idea. Which I just don’t feel think going into right now.
people have to die. sometimes people have to die on a large scale. we just chose to kill smaller amounts of people over a much longer period of time. killing many people in a short period of time is more efficient, and less aggrivating. if they could do it to us they would, innocents and all. but this is what seperates us from the fanatical, uncivilized world. sometimes i think barbarism would be in our best interest.
