Buster Sword Guest | Remember Sephiroth in AC didn’t use it to kill anyone. | | | 23 Mar 2008 03:51 pm |
O Cara Guest | Sephiroth cut Kuja' head off in less than a second. Speddblitz FTW.
And both Kuja and Kefka are overrated. People claim that Kuja blew-up a planet without any evidence, and they praise Kefka for pushing three statues. | | | 23 Mar 2008 11:04 pm |

Khorib Guest | The thing about the most modern for of Sephiroth (Advent Children) is that he is literally no longer a physical being.
He has become something entirely else. It seem that as long as Cloud lives, so will Sephiroth, considering that Cloud still has Jenova cells within him, hence their connection.
The creators have also stated that it is TRUE that Sephiroth has NEVER exerted himself, and that nothing surpasses him in the world of FF7.
So how did Cloud beat him then? In AC we see Sephiroth summon that dark vortex down on the Midgar ruins with a small flick of the wrist, but then he never once uses any powers against Cloud.
He sticks to straight swordplay almost in a toying manner and very much enjoying himself throughout the fight.
Whether to chalk this up to arrogance, I don’t know.
I was always under the impression that Sephiroth actually had quite a bit of respect for Cloud. Seemed more “testy” to me.
Anyways, in the end, this is why I think Cloud beat him...
- Cloud is the good guy
- Aerith gave Cloud the needed strength and confidence to do what was needed to defeat Sephiroth.(The heart is the strongest muscle kinda deal)
- (Personal Theory) For some reason I can’t get it out of my head that maybe Sephiroth did want to be defeated. Sounds dumb, but after playing through Crisis Core as well and seeing the old Sephiroth, its doesn’t seem that far off of his personality when you add up all the evidence. Cloud was depressed and feeling hopeless almost the whole movie(AC) and it almost seemed like Sephiroth was making him earn his right to keep the planet, like, giving Cloud a cause/reason.
Although it can be taken in many ways, Tifa tells everyone to hold off helping Cloud, because he has to “do this on his own”
Forgive my sloppy post, I’m new to this. Also forgive my delving into a deeper philosophy. | | | 17 Apr 2008 03:51 pm |
