Yeah, even If I had to pay for online, SP will still be good. But imagine our species working together to destroy CPO.
meh...CPO doesn’t like games like this. I talked to him about Spore and LBP on XBL. He says he’s not intrested.
All the more reason to destroy him.

He told analysts that the online mode of the game could be an “opportunity” for an “expanded digital revenue stream." He did not elaborate if said stream entailed microtransactions, in-game advertising, subscription fees, or any combination of the three.
supposedly there is no online mode
*crosses out plan for Galatic Empire with nervin and hijacc*
but instead users will prbly have to pay for certain downloadable content :\

Maxis' ideas for Spore are so vast that the game as it exists today represents only one percent of what the developer could do with it, according to producer Thomas Vu.
“Speaking as a developer, we always want more. With a game like Spore, when you start imagining what could be in there, the scope of it is enormous”, Vu told us last week.
He explained that, because of Spore’s nature, Maxis had to sit down and be very specific about what it wanted to include, but said that “This is like less than one percent of the things we could possibly do”.
It’s abundantly clear that the developer’s already looking ahead, Vu describing Spore as “a great platform” in terms of “making the rest of it at some point”. However, the reception of the game will prove critical in shaping future plans.
“If the fans really love it and the game is as relevant, as great as, The Sims, and sells as well, we have pretty much anything you could possibly think of”, Vu continued.
“And we can just do it - because giving players the ability to make these wild and wonderful and crazy things allows us to start making things that those things can do, like the content that those things can live in”.
Elaborating, Vu explained that Maxis has already started working on rough ideas and prototypes of that content, and that in theory the sky’s the limit when it comes to ways in which the developer could evolve the Spore experience.

lthough most people seem to agree that there’s a healthy anticipation building around the forthcoming Will Wright project, Spore, there’s also some feeling that its publisher Electronic Arts must manage expectation about its performance and appeal.
A range of analysts polled by The Street provided sales estimates to the end of this year of between 3 and 5 million units, and a healthy revenue target of around USD 250 million.
But there’s some scepticism as to whether or not Spore can capture the imagination of the public in the same way that The Sims did - a franchise which has sold 98 million units to date and the brand to which Spore might be seen by some investors as a natural successor.
“I think Spore will do at least 3 million units as a packaged product, and if it’s as good as it looks, it has the potential to do twice that," said Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter.
And the simExchange is currently predicting that the PC and as-yet-unannounced DS editions of the game could combine for 7.5 million units in its lifetime, while its analyst Jesse Divnich believes it could fall “victim to the expectations that EA has set up for the title."
Meanwhile Arvind Bhatia, from Sterne, Agee & Lynch added: “The Sims is a billion-dollar plus franchise," he said. “If Spore does half of what Sims does, it will be a great success."
Spore is set for release on the PC and mobile on September 5 in the UK. Further editions of the game have not yet been confirmed.
