Question for Canadians

I’m from the mid-atlantic region, and we just had an ice storm, and that pretty much brought everything to a halt (school-wise especially).
My question is for people north of the border. You have 5 feet of snow on the ground for 6 months a year. Do they make you go to school anyway? Also what if it’s REALLY cold (like -30°C aka -30°F), and there’s not so much snow... do they make you go too?

It depends.
It’s not how much snow or how cold it is but how well the roads are plowed usually.

If the school buses can’t get out in time, or the roads are too icy or it’s just dangerous weather out, then schools will be canceled.

But it’s all up to the school board, and obviously there are a ton of those, and it varies from region to region.

And I’m not sure about extreme cold. I’m sure it does happen, but I don’t live that far north.
-30C isn’t the end of the world, but its still is pretty damn cold.
