On a personal level I can think of a million things I’d rather be protesting. This just doesn’t rank high on my list of concerns.
I do know a little bit about Scientology (various supposed claim and whatnot), but I have no idea what the point of the protests might be. ---

I wasn’t protesting it, other people were, and it was a pretty big turn-up.
Pretty much the whole thing is that the Church of Scientology has done some pretty scandalous things, one of which is the supposed murder of some church members after doing things they didn’t quite approve of regarding the church. Considering the true beliefs of Scientology are so guarded and require actual money to get to know, it could have been as little as telling someone what it was. Also, the church has gone through great lengths to remove all evidence of this from the internet. It’s not uncommon to even see a youtube comment that has been replaced with “this comment has been taken down by the Church of Scientology”.
I don’t have any problem with the beliefs. Aliens, volcanoes, bombs, etc doesn’t really do any harm. Rather it’s the church itself that was being protested. ---

Haha. I didn’t think it was you who were protesting.
And I do remember that a supposedly secret document from Scientology was circulating on the internet for a short time. I remember reading an article years ago about a woman who literally escape from a Scientology residence. It was an interesting read.
One of the comment she made was that there was really different levels of Scientology, and that high ranking members were very different from your average joe following these believes.
So I guess it’s all these underhanded going-ons that are being protested?
Is Scientology becoming more popular? Are they dealing with things outside their church? ---

Anon is protesting for free speech. Scientology’s litigous nature and the removal of the Tom Cruise vid is a breach of free speech. Various other infringments, yadda yadda. --- Weapon of Mass Percussion

Part of the appeal of this protest was the chance for fellow ebaums to get together and have a good laugh. Note that Anon is destroying $cientology 'for the good of the world, for the good our your members, and for our own enjoyment'.
I don’t see the problem with adding humour into the mix, but the message is serious. $cientology is one fucked up cult, man. --- Weapon of Mass Percussion

There is a really good video called the 'Unfunny truth about Scientology'. It’s got some pretty nasty facts. That coupled with all the other ramblings anout the church (child abuse, Homosexuality etc) doesn’t make the guys very appealing.
Why the hell is it called 'Scientology' anyway? 'Ology' means the study of and we all know what science is, so:
It should read - The study of science
A good name for a religious study? I think not.
Case closed. ---
