That’s homo shit for real you don’t tattoo another man’s name or bands name or logo on yourself unless you’re part of the band or a groupie and you’re not apart of the band right?????
Well, If you are a huge fan, I dont see a problem with it.
A lot of bands have really winnar logos and album covers.
I just think the whole dedication level is different between rap and metal.
the problem is that’s gay
Yah see, that hurts.
Explain to me how tattooing another man’s name or logo on you isn’t gay
You
arent sucking a cock, getting your cock sucked by a dude, getting your ass fucked/tongued, fucking/tonguing another mans anus, or receiving or giving a handjob, from/to a dude.
I believe to qualify as gay, you have to have done one of those things. ---

While John’s a tremendous faggot I have to say there’s a difference there.
With the war vet, he knew the people. They were his friends. He was personal with them. Getting their names tattooed on him serves almost as a human memorial to them.
Getting a band tattooed on you, you don’t know them, they don’t know you, really don’t even care about you, etc.
Also, taste in music can always change. ---

NO but if you get somebody’s name who doesn’t even know you and has never met you’s name on you that does. That would be like me getting G-Unit tattooed on my even though I have no affiliation with the group that’s fucking gay shit ---

You know, since you never really meet the guy who goes “Oh yeah, one summer, I was kinda into slayer”
You meet the guy with slayer carved into his chest.
A person will get something tatooed onto them because sometimes, certain band shirts are impossible to find. Im not gonna find a Demilich shirt with the cover to Nespithe on it, am I? Now I really enjoy that album, almost to the point of obsessiveness. I dont see any reason in the future where Im goin to stop liking it, and since I always a shirt anyway, who’s it hurting if get it tatooed on my back? I mean, seriously, how can you be a bitch to someone you’ve never met? ---

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I’ve seen Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey too.
Metal, no matter how much you may think it is, isn’t any more special of a genre than anything else. It’s not better or more respectable than any other genre of music. Interest can wane just like it can with anything.
Imagine someone who gets a tattoo of a band’s logo, and then later all their releases turn out to be total shit? Or what if the band is revealed to be homicidal sociopaths with basements filled with rotting carcasses?
A while ago I had planned on getting the Turmion Katilot logo tattooed on me, because for like a whole summer that’s all I listened to. Ever. Now I haven’t listened to them since September of last year. Still like them but not the same extent, and I wouldn’t want a band that I eventually become just “eh” about scarred into my flesh forever.
It’s not a smart thing to do. Trust me. ---

Oh man, if thats how it came out, mah bad. I didnt mean to sound like an elitist prick.
All I was saying was level of dedication to the genre was probably more intense than that of rap. Are there people who listen to rap who have the level of dedication that most/many metalheads have, of course, but they are more few than those who listen to metal.
Wasnt arguing artistic merit, simply arguing dedication to genre or band or singer or guitarist or blah blah blah.....
And honestly, I probably wont be getting a tat any time soon, just using an example. ---

Well any genre can have someone really dedicated to it. But I mean tattoo is like, extreme and total no-going-back dedication. Like, as I said, an “I love this band so much that even if all their future releases are total shitfests and they’re revealed to be rapist pedophiles I’m still with them”.
If anything I’d get something that isn’t quite a logo but maybe a symbol they use. In Flames uses the jester head. Even if I stopped liking In Flames the jester head is just a cool sign. ---

anon Guest | Tattoos are supposed to have some sort of special meaning to the person that gets them (according to many). And listening to music is a very subjective experience. What one person takes from a song can be completely different than another person. Music can be a very integral part of someone’s personal development and various songs can reflect different experiences or beliefs that a person has. So I think music tattoos are NOT gay.
Although, if you’re getting a lil' wayne tattoo because you think he has sick beats it’s probably going to be a gay tattoo. But if his music has personal meaning to you it probably won’t. Although, it would be more appropriate to get a lyric or something like that tattooed as opposed to his name. Having the name lil' wayne tattooed on you would be weird. | | |
