They weren’t dreads...they couldn’t be fixed up...just taken out.

Well, they’re sorta the majority at my university.
I’m not a “real” hippy you see.
Honestly...I’ve had someone(non-hippy) look at me and say “you don’t think you’re a hippie do you?" scornfully!
I’ve also had many people tell me I’m a hippie...including the boyfriend. He didn’t like the braids by the way...although he only saw them in pictures.

Ummmm...sort of a hippie one.
Well, I think the reputation is exaggerated...but we’ve definitely got the grassroots thing going on.
It’s good in a lot of ways...and bad in a lot ways too. There’s a few to many pointless protests in my opinion. But good work as been done to change parts of the establishment too.

No, reduction in paper usage is a good protest. Most lumber companies can’t replant as fast as their cutting. Many old-growth forests are still being logged.

More like....“open space” protests (yes there was one) over having a cafeteria in our new building one that you have to pay to get into ('cause it’s buffet style).
It’s the hippie-political cross that gets you.

The grassroots people are just more into making all campus clothing sweat-shop free (success), and getting a cafe on campus run by students using organic and local foods (success) and other stuff.
