WASN’T MUCH OF A SUCCESS? Now before we blurt stuff out we should check background. Capcom stated that its goal for sales of RE:UC were 620,000. At the end of the year 2007, Capcom announced they had shipped 950,000 copies of the game and that like RE4 Wii Edition was a huge success and has helped them gain numerous profits.
By now RE:UC shipment wise is platinum, and by the end of March will be platinum in sales. That is a successful title seeing that it was sold full price and development costs of the game couldn’t have exceeded 5 million. You do the math.
But going back to the subject, RE5 has not been confirmed to the Wii yet. I don’t think it will go either, but we definetly will see more RE titles on the Wii. Cause let’s face it they are 2 for 2 on Wii with RE titles in success. They can’t ignore that.
But chances of RE5 being ported to the Wii are slim UNLESS they bomb on PS360. Or in other words sell less than 3 million units combined.

Compared to other RE sales it’s sales weren’t a sucess. RE4 on Wii sold a million copies much faster. I mean RE:UC has been out for what 4 months and it just now is about to pass the 1 million mark? I mean compared to RE4 sales it was horrible. Imo the game itself also sucked compared to RE4.

RE4 Wii Edition was also a game that was in the direct line of the series. RE:UC was a spinoff. Also RE4: Wii Edition cost $30 while RE:UC was a full $50. And of course RE4: Wii Edition of course had the same name as the very hyped and popular RE4 which was huge. There are so many reasons why RE4 should have sold more than RE:UC.
But it doesn’t matter what you put it at, RE:UC was a success and a big one making Capcom close to $40 million in profits.
