A lack of religious belief is agnosticism, atheism is an active or conscious disbelief or rejection of deity. You can not be an atheist without a conscious choice concerning whether you believe in anything or not. A baby can not be an atheist unless it’s some kind of crazy genius-baby that has already developed the ability to make said decision for itself.

I’m sorry, but that is incorrect, sir. Atheism does NOT have to be a conscious choice to reject theism. Atheism is exactly what the word means. “A-Theism” means “Without Theism” or “non-theism”.
Which means, if you lack the belief in a deity... then you are an “A-theist”.
A religion is noted by an organization. If there is an Athiest organization then technically it’s a religion. Otherwise most consider it a philosophy, seeing that it directly translates into the disbelief of a god and superior omniscient being.
