You forgot socio-political issues and philosophy, human emotions, coming of age, isolation and depression, war, the inhumanities of certain sciences, everyday life.
There are plenty of animes that are far more mature and far less “gaytarded” as you’ve put it.

I mean, if you shoved a doctorate in literature in my face with that comment, maybe I’d take that back. Thankfully, I’m almost certain you are very far from that.
The animes I laid forth were not cliche and had good characters. In fact, the only cliches they MAY have had were formed merely in the anime world.
As for Ghost in the Shell, that was just the setting, which I doubt you saw THAT much and in the same way before it was first released. Nevermind the theme was merely political anyway.
