Anime is anime. Most people that say they hate it end up liking some show or the other. Anime in and of itself can’t be properly defined outside of Japanese animation, so whatever. Sure, most share similar themes, but then again, many don’t.
And, if you go back to what is considered the Golden Age of anime (late 80’s and early to mid 90’s), you’re bound to find some good shit. ---
