You would need more than that to destroy a planet like earth, but yeah. Goku could destroy the sun by the saiyan saga it seems.
Then that kamehameha would have turned Vegeta into ash with no problem.
Not true. The beam struggle could have weakened the power of the blast, or Akira didn’t take that in to account ---

To destroy the Earth you need more, because the composition of solid Rock is harder to destroy than Gas and the elements that the sun have

Here is a science page, a planet like earth produce more power than our sun, raw power and the center power, Earth explosion is stronger than a supernova from our sun, and to destroy the earth is require more power than to destroy our sun

...no where does it say there that you need more energy to destroy our planet than the sun...in fact the sun requires the most raw energy for the explosion
Sun 2.00E+33 6.96E+10 2.30E+48 1.14937E+15
Earth 5.97E+27 6.38E+08 1.496E+13 2.24E+39 4.93E+48
The energy that the sun produce to explode is less than the force that the earth produce, in the same way you need less energy to destroy the sun because his Elements, compare to the more estable elements of earth. ---

The beam struggle did some severe damage when they crossed the Kamehameha and the Galick Gun until Vegeta decided to turn into an oozaru, but the kamehameha wouldn’t have done much to Vegeta by itself. | | #104 28 Feb 2008 08:35 pm |

Oh yeah. Well Frieza’s thing was also like that so...Cell probably was going to blow up the sun and end the star system. ---

He could have done that, but he would have also been killed in the process. The only people who could survive an attack like that would be Frieza, Cell, and Broly. | | #107 28 Feb 2008 08:38 pm |

He would have had a limited amount of time to do it just like Goku did after Frieza sent a Death Ball into the core of Planet Namek. | | #110 28 Feb 2008 08:40 pm |

If he can travel light speed than its no point in using IT which is light speed. If Raditz had light speed why it took him a good while to get to Roshi’s island to meet Goku? Plus who saids Raditz can go light speed?
