Well, as soon as Bjarne gives the Admins the power to mod, I doubt he’ll be doing it, and I don’t think the Admins will be so quick to actually give that power to anyone who asks for it.

They shouldn’t just give the power away to someone that asks. It’s good that they don’t unless they like having a whole forum full of nothing but moderators and admins. If we had it like that, it could turn into total and complete chaos. All mods and admins should agree on matters like giving certain people a moderator or admin position so they will be able to make a decision.

Just make sure to discuss with the entire moderator, I’m sorry, admin body before promoting anyone. It would be best if we all agreed on the prissy moderator positions.

Yeah, that’d be a wiser decision than just allowing the mods to random promote somebody. I still hold that only Zucas and CPO should be put in charge of the MVC Clan stuff, though.

So I take it I’ll never get to 'patrol', lets say, my own Division?

Haha, present the ability for mods to create mini mods and every tom dick and harry flys in to take part in the power struggle amongst the regulars.

Ok, this is the plan (shortly):

All admins (old terminology: Moderators) will be able to hire/demote moderators for specific topics. The system will log when an admin hires/demotes a moderator - and all the actions performed by the topic moderators are also logged.

The general rule is this (to become a topic mod):

*the topic must be popular
*the topic is a kind of guild/clan/group/club thingie
*the user considered generally must be seen as the leader/manager of this club
*the user must be a respected member
*the user must also have the first post in the topic (be topic creator); exceptions: by approval of the first poster.
*multiple users can be made moderators on the same topic; this should only happen if it is actually necessary — - more or less all the above rules also applies to potentially second moderators

Contrary to my original plan, admins will not, at this time, be able to create forum moderators (only I can do that).

It will be available within 2 days (hopefully today).

topic moderators can only rename topic, edit posts, delete posts

forum moderators (currently none) can do everything (including banning) on the particular forum

admins- well has all the usual power

superuser(me)- is god (ie. I could in 30 seconds delete all of you :P )
