In terms of skill with a sword, Kenshin is much more deadly. Due to the fact he uses the Iaido style of swordsmanship, and then even tunes it, giving it the ability to strike fluently and effectively even after the initial drawing slash, without losing the strength in the attacks, or perverting the basic principles of Iaido. Watch the OVA Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal for a better view of exactly how skilled he is with the sword, without all the horrid bastardization of the style by the unrealistic physics of the original series.
