goku didnt survive that attack because its not a planet busting attack. the most damage ive seen hiei can do was destroy a building(movie) and thats when he absorbed the black dragon spirit.
It will finish with Trunks doing what he did to imperfect Cell, If we are talking of Trunks coming back to the future, Hiei could damage his soul or maybe not as seen how Chaozu telekinesis didnt do nothing to Nappa(Who is insignificant compare to Trunks)

goku died from the explosion cause he used up all his power to instant transi mission trunks can kill hei easily if it was sword combat it would be different as heie did with his sword also can trunks lets say heie hits trunks sword there at a standstill trunks blows heias face off will a blast attack and the reason most of the enemys in dbz dont die is becasue they are not trying to make there attacks explode but desingrate them so the planet wont explode

In my opinion Trunks wins.
Well in my opinion. Hiei has the power and speed to contend wiht Trunks, but yes, if he did try to go into his ultra ssj form, Hiei would dispose of him easily. But I think that Hiei can match him in fighting skills and power. Remember Bui? He had awesome speed and power, but yet he was taken by surprise by Hiei’s Dark Dragon.

but bui was no where near the power of freeza. and trunks is a lot stronger than freeza.
Yes Trunks is more powerful than Frieza, and that is why I am saying that Hiei could contend with Trunks. Just because he is in his ssj form does not mean that he will win. Hiei was stronger than Bui, Hiei could probably defeat Frieza in battle even though that will never happen.
