Using the wand, I made a damn good cut out of something from a pic. It’s nearly perfect. Is there a way I can save just the cut out? So I can have it forever (even when I turn the program or computer off), and apply different backgrounds to it and such?

You should be able to clear the background and save it as a PSD

Or if you’d prefer it to remain an image file, save it as a PNG. It remains in high quality and has no visible background still.
