Hehe yep. Well it’s actually legal for medical purposes in Ontario right now. But it’s this huge bureaucratic process, and I’ve heard the stories about people not getting approved because their doctor was afraid to sign, and getting it approved if you have a landlord is next to impossible.

I’m with you. It’s not different here. Taxpayer’s money is meant to go towards things that will benefit our lives, improved public facillities such as hospitals and libraries. Yet it gets wasted on a war. And Brown is probably gonna be worse than Blair, or, if it comes to extremes.... MARGARET THATCHER!!!11!!!111

Heh well if you keep a low profile here you can “pull it off”. Especially if it’s just in your own home and the smell doesn’t drift. Although I have seen people smoking joints in the park in broad daylight (ok they were sitting in their truck but still).

Cid - I’m actually not interested in trying it. A lot of things (like alcohol) tend to hit me really hard. And people like “me” can form addictions all too easily...even with things that should be non-addictive. Also I sometimes get my share of second-hand.

The Asian economies will also be severely affected by the collapse of the American dollar. Not only do these economies depend upon the US market for revenue from much of their exports, but they also hold substantial reserves in US dollars. The Chinese and Japanese banking systems would collapse, their dollar holding evaporating, and the high debt levels of Chinese corporations will cause a massive wave of bankruptcies.

I’m very aware of the construction industry falling apart in the U.S.. It seems the only success in the construction industry in these hard times is coming from huge corporations. They’re gobbling up all the work and leaving small independant contractors like myself without a chance.

Fortunately, last week I received a phone call from an old client who relocated to a different state and company which is willing to pay top dollar for quality work. I haven’t heard from this guy in years. By chance, he kept my contact information and remembered the “quality” work I’ve done for his old company in the past. As it turns out, he’s going to give me a contract to design a two story Bank mid next week to feel me out and then he has another following project (5 times the size) lined up for me after that. I need this more than anything right now. It couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Thats great to hear man now keep that contract safe and give it your best shot and squeeze out profit spreads wherever you can, hope you make it out good.

I dont wanna be like 'Suze Orman' but but I must ask, if your industry was the FIRST and is the WORST hit... with the boom you faced in the last 8 - 10 years, didn’t you create buffer investments enough to get on through such tough times ?

Actually, the Home lending/real estate market went down first. The Construction industry is just a repercussion from that, which I’m feeling the effects currently. I’m no professional at economics but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out energy, fossil fuels and unnecessary needs (trades such as recreational) will come next along with agricultural.

LMAO, “Suze Orman” huh? The only investment/asset I really have is the equity in my home. It’s a pretty substantial amount of equity, however, the Home lending market crashed, interest rates still high and nobody will buy my home for what I’d need to gain any equity during this economic time. Worst case scenario, I put my house up for sale, nobody buys, I get no work, IRS takes my equity and I file for bankruptcy. Sure I could refinance my home to survive during the hard times but I’d still be falling down farther into debt and my mortgage would double. It’s a tuff time but I’m sure I’ll pull through for awhile until I win the lottery (kidding). Haha, I’ll tuff it out and manage. I’m a survivor! wink

It’s been nice chatting with you, man. I had no idea you were such a cool guy. Anyway, best of luck on your education.

Didn’t your mom teach you to look before you leap? I guess they don’t teach that in college these days either? It’s a street smart type thing. Guess what, doe boy? My trade was in huge demand when I decided to go for it, just as you’re saying now with your decision. BTW, I just signed a $75 thousand dollar contract. Yeah, I came back, bitch. I never die! I’m laughing now because you’re just a fat ass child who’s parents pay for your college when your type come a dime a dozen. Your worthless!

Talk to me when you’ve experienced the real world, kid. When you’ve made one single Pennie in the business world, I may give you some respect! Until then, you’re just a jobless college student.

Believe it or not, your not the most successful SOAB on the planet XTRM. But I suppose there’s no way of convincing you of this so I won’t bother.
