Popular rap is basically bad poetry about being retarded and doing illegal things that hurt people. Don’t try to redeem it by saying some rap isn’t about that. Its 1% that is actually decent is not well liked.
And just so you know, i do actually hear alot of it. I live at a Job Corps and 75% of the people hear listen to it.
By the way, just so everyone knows, IT IS NOT COOL TO RANDOMLY SHOUT OUT RAP LYRICS IN PUBLIC. Not will it ever make you look anything but retarded.
That’s why you listen to better stuff. Sure, there is a shit load of stuff about that, you just gotta pick & choose. Besides, even if peeps do rap about that, in many cases it’s about how they rap it... there are people who pretty much recommend doing that shit and there are people who talk about it but ultimately they’re saying it’s not worth it. There are still others who may advocate it but they do it with style that makes you want to listen to the song regardless.
Besides, having sex is natural; there’s nothing wrong with it (other than a pregancy that the people involved can’t sustain in the long run). Killing is... it’s been here longer than the wheel and a couple billion public service announcements won’t stop the violence. It’s just one of the unfortunate parts of life. As for the others, I pretty much agree with you; they’re retarded.
Going back to the “better stuff” it makes up a hell of a lot more than 1%. While you do in a way have to look for it, it takes what 2 days of research to find 100+ good groups? I’ll even name a couple of 'em for ya...
