Because before Super Saiyans they used things like 'strategy' in there fights, but once they did the Super Saiyan thing it turned into 'who’s beam is bigger/cooler than yours', which killed the series for me.

The strategy they have is yelling something really loud and shooting a random beam at the guy. Look at the fights in DB then look a the fights in DBZ and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

In DB, Goku was awesome. He fought with his stick and his mind. In DBZ, lets face it, he was a dick. He fought by throwing energy at his opponent in a giant 'who’s cock is bigger' fest.

Bleach, DBZ was never that good. Inuyasha was alright. Needed more Sesshoumaru. Naruto... The fillers made me die a little inside.
