Depends on your perspective of life. If you believe there is a god that gave you free will, then you believe that god has given you the choice to do both good and bad. However god knows what you’ll do so from his point of view its not free will, but from ours it is.

If you believe that the soul and personality is simply the figments of your brain, then you believe free will is simply your body. Actually an interesting thought, that your brain can create all the perceptions of what you are when really are you are is that brain and the body in it.

I believe the latter that our “soul” is our brain. However I, nor does any scientist in the world, understand enough about the brain to explain how the brain does all that.

But... you don’t have a choice. When god made his divine plan he pre-planned all the decisions everyone will ever make, and being all knowing he can never be wrong so logically it’s impossible for you to choose anything but what god already planned you are going to choose. It’s either free will, or destiny. Not both.

His point still stands. If we can’t use human logic in this debate then no argument is valid, even if you do argue for god. Matt’s logic is right. My mom’s BF, he’s a religious guy and used to preach until he moved, he believes in pre destination.

Free will is an interesting topic indeed. I mean when we think about ourselves we think we are seperate from the body. I mean we can think and its hard for us to comprehend outside of us that maybe its something else in our body that is us that is thinking. I mean we consider our free will, emotions, personality, ect. to be something that is not concrete or a body part, but a “spirit” about us. Something that is “confirmed” by how we view and feel about ourselves. Humans are detached from their body. You feel that you are something running your body.

But looking at it from a completely unbias perspective, then you’d see a human as a body just like any other creatures. We see a dog running not because he chose to but because his body told him to to run away from a predator. Thus you’d see a human crying not because that person is sad, but because the brain is emoting. The brain is the central station of the body, and it is all your emotions, personality, and what decides “free will”.

Humans have yet to fully comprehend even 15% of the brain’s functions or how it works. We still don’t know how the senses work. So understanding emotions and personality must be even harder. Some believe emotions and personality are in your genes and that actually they can be changed as DNA is always being created throughout your bodily processes.

As for free will, there is no such thing, as you do what your brain tells you to do. It’s only because our brain is so “intelligent” that we can actualy detach ourselves from it thinking that we are doing it when really our body is already set on doing something.


I mean what I’m saying is very confusing I’m sure, but its all about looking at a human, there emotions, there actions, ect from an unbias view and perspective and you can see where this is not only very likely but probably true, if you believe the soul is your body.

Random thoughts

OK if life is predetermined that means “God” has already written everyones life which means that “God” is setting us up to comment sin which means 2 things.

1) “God” love seeing people suffer which to me sounds like our so called “God” is really Satan, but that can’t be cause there must be balance in the universe so there be must 1 supreme evil and 1 supreme good if not there would be chaos.

2) “God” just wants certain amount of people in heaven and hell to keep it even. If thats true “God” hates minorities cause the high percentage of people who are criminals are blacks and hispanics.

Or maybe “God” doesn’t know what we will do until we do it then it will be written forever. If so “God” is not all knowing.

Maybe there are alternate realities which picks the opposite choice from us if thats true does the Earth A have the same “God” as Earth B if so will I see my double ganger in heaven or hell? Or do they have there own “God” if so who will win a fight? “God” A or “God” B? Or is that Earth completely different from this Earth? What if Earth A is evil and Earth B is good does that mean Earth A “God” is evil? If thats the case which Earth are we an part of?

-Sorry if it doesn’t make sense I was just started type random stuff and I don’t like to stop writing until my point is done cause I don’t want to lose my train a of thought by proof reading it.
