From the age of 5 he had a huge potential surpassing any known fighter on earth but it could only be released by rage and suffering, the first showing of Gohan’s power is against Raditz (an Elite warrior of the Sayain race) despite Piccolo and Goku earth’s mightiest warrior’s giveing their all they were unable to put a dent in Raditz armour not even a kink (Gohan however delivered a blow that winded and smashed Raditz armour leaveing him realing in pain).
The boy’s power is not soon forgotten tho, and he is trained by Piccolo how to survive fight and use his power at will (on his first day Piccolo hurl’s him at a mountain witch he destroy’s in an ongoing wave), Piccolo is also forced to destroy the moon to provent Gohan becomeing a mindless Ozzaruu who’s power tenfold’s (so by these calculation’s Roshi in Dragon Ball wiped out a moon so did Piccolo so therefore Gohan also potentialy can wipe out more than the moon aged 5).
Moveing on by many year’s to Gohan aged 11 (6yr’s later) Gohan has helped deal with a world ender named Freiza(Freiza destroy’s planet Vegeta base form witch is less than a percent of his full power, when going Final Form he reveal’s that to be useing a percent then up’s to 50,75 then finaly 100 percent) Freiza used a tech named 100 percent Death Ball on Goku SSJ witch was deflected away from Namek ending a nearby world.
Now if you take into account the gigantic power differance of First Form Freiza (world Ender) and Final Form Freiza then you have a galactic level threat on your hand’s, now Gohan age 11 far outstrip’s this after training with Goku for a year in the hyperbolic time chamber he had become a Super Saiyan himself and was now stronger than his farther Goku in this state (who intern was way beyond Freiza at this point) so SSJ Gohan is a galactic level threat at the least.
While Battleing Super Perfect Cell Gohan In SSJ2 hold’s of a blast said to be solar system destroying (to be noted he is weakened and also fireing as much energy as Cell is) so together that make’s for two Solar System destroying Blast’s collideing makeing Gohan a Solar Threat aged 11
now if you follow the manga Gohan is 16 Buu Saga if not then 18 Cartoon so 5-7yr’s pass now granted Gohan did little training but over the corse of the next 2 day’s he become’s stronger than his farther and Vegeta who both have been training intencely for the last 5-7yr’s straight, First the Z Sword awaken’s some hidden strenth within Gohan next he maneges to train to the extent he can fling it around effortlessly in base form (even Goku could not lift the sword without great struggle at this point) so already Gohan base was beyond his farther in strenth and speed due to the sword’s training and as the Lord of the world’s say’s it mean’s he will be even more powerful as a super saiyan.
So SSJ/SSJ2 Gohan over SSJ/SSJ2 Goku at this point but Goku still had SSJ3 over Gohan...for now (and remember all these power’s are ubove Cell meaning ubove Solar Threat Level)
Anyway Mystic is born And Gohan take’s his place as the single strongest non fused Z Fighter in DBZ, he now hold’s all his unlocked potential and power in his base form meaning no power loss and he is able to achive maximum energy instantly his style and skill have also been significantly improved (potential dousent just bring your power to it’s peak but your preformance aswell).

Kid Buu Super Buu and Gotenk’s SSJ3 are all seen with the ability to rip hole’s in dimention’s or the fabric of reality as it were (the old Kia say’s that this is chatastrophic and could cause the Universe to collapse) this being caused by foccusing their energy’s into their voice’s causeing huge pulse wave’s like sonic boom’s.
Now the said Fighter’s here are all beneath Gohan in just about everyway apart from durability, so this Place’s Gohan on a Universal Threat level, and rightly so^^
