Well I think he also wants to help our spieces out. I mean if everyone on earth believed like they did 2000 years ago, society is hurt in the long run.
Yes but who knows what horrid morals may develop in the future. I think we need to keep at least a few of them even if it’s just the most basic ones just to keep society stable.
You think people 2000 years ago have better morals then us???!? are you kidding.
Yes they were... read the history then...or you just love to read apes story...???

So then I guess you think sacrificing animals, oppressing women, and using death as a common punishment is more moral than today’s society.

Hard?!?!? was slavery bad, yes, was witch burning bad yes, is hating someone because they are diffrent bad yes... we view people 1000 years ago as mostly barbarians, in 1000 years we will be concided barbarins.

so there is no one, who can justifiy the respect religion demands?

Why SHOULD people have to justify their beliefs? Why shouldn’t you be nice to start with? Does the fact that someone believes in something you think is stupid give you the right to make fun of them and be a complete asshole?
Alright, so I can not say anything about the flat earth people, I can not say anything about those who think magic is real, I can not say anything against anyone no matter how stupid their beliefs are.
Please as far as I can see, all everyone is doing is trying to put forward a very stupid idea, so that their religion/beliefs will not be ridiculed.
Religion is the only belief system that has ever demanded this much respect. I could ridicule you one anything else, and no one would take as much offence to it as much as religion does.
I am not mean about what I say, I only stat facts, and correct people on their mistakes. Unlike a few theist here I could name. When I ridculing, I try to explose how silly something they have put forward, or have done.
Its not like I say crap like “nah nah you a wrong nah nah you a wrong” like many people on this forum claim I do.
You can show someone that they are wrong without ridiculing them. When you ridicule someone because you think they are wrong, it just makes you an ass. No one is going to take you seriously, and even people on your own side are going to hate you.
Well everybody, looks like TaurusXXX finally found a replacement.

Seems to me, that either you are the most tolerant person on the planet or you are a hypocrite.
You can not tell me you would not ridicule someone who thinks they should rule the world? Think that their races is superiour? That all women are less then men or vise verser.? That infindels should die? That science has produce nothing usefull?
I see people over and over and over again saying that their belief should be respected, but when it comes to a beliefs that has been justifiyed just as much as theirs, but they dissagree with, they turn into complete hyprocrites.
Now the only fair way to treat every belief as equal is to only respect it after it has been justified.

I wouldn’t make fun of them, I would simply prove them wrong. Or at least I would do my best to prove them wrong.
Thats new. I’ve never had anyone here call me tolerant before haha.

Nice strawman there, but I didn’t say that, did I now? I said the morals in the future might be bad. They don’t necessarily become more just as time goes on. Even if they drift futher left wing they could go past liberal and drift in anarchic morals. Don’t say bullshit to make it sound like I claimed something I didn’t, hypocrite.

Okay, this was on another thread, but it’s relevant to this topic. Gplex, I can’t believe you said if your best friend was Jew you’d “help him out” by critisizing his beliefs... if you can do that, then you shouldn’t be annoyed if you had a Christian best friend who tried to “help you out” by telling you that your beliefs are fucking bullshit, that Atheism is evil, that you are an idiot, that you are a Satan worshipper and that you deserve to be placed in a lake of fire to suffer from immense pain for all eternity. Would it be acceptable if it were true according to him? After all, he’s only trying to “help you out”.
Does that sound like a best friend to you? Or even a nice, respectable person?
Best friend would if I actual was evil, a satan worshipper, that deserve to be placed in a lake of fire.
But your problem is, I am not evil, and I am not a satan worshiper, but if I was addictted to drugs, a good friend would help me out point out how far down Ive fallen, or if I was moping over a x, I good friend would tell me how childish Im acting, etc etc.
“The problem is, I am not evil." But they think you are. Just like you think their beliefs are stupid. Problem is, neither of you are the supreme judge of what’s evil and what’s stupid or what’s right and what’s correct, so howcome YOU get to decide?
You would tell someone their religion was wrong if you thought it was (even if they were your best friend), so howcome if they think you belief (or lack of it) is incorrect, they don’t have the same liberty? Neither are officialy proven or disproven.

No, if you show someone they are wrong, most people take it as a form of ridicule.. well at lease that what most religious people take what I show me as.

They do have the same liberty, but they can not just state that Im wrong, they must back it up, the same as me, But I know they cant, why? Because Ive looked and Im very confident that there is zero evidence to suport their claims.

Which had absolutely nothing to do with the argument whether or not God exists.
I know evolution is real. Posting videos showing evolution is real only proves it’s real but I never argued that evolution wasn’t real and evolution being real doesn’t disprove God. It’s an ASSUMPTION Gplex makes.

Yes but he posted those videos because users like Itachi and Seed kept saying it wasn’t real and such so he proved evolution to them.
