Khorib Guest | Besides that fact that theists are the ones that must provide evidence for the claim that there is a “god”, let me ask you this.
Why do we need a god?
and
Why is “heaven” preferable over the world that already exists? What makes heaven better?

All holy books have stories that are very far fetched, yes, but they all have symbolism on how to live as a decent human being. Really, I find it to be just as hard as writing a novel like To Kill A Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, etc.

Yeah, a crappy one most likely, but NOTHING like classics with symbolism behind every word.

Writing a novel is not easy in the least bit. It is one of the most difficult things to do. Go ahead and try to write a novel and make it as great as To Kill A Mockingbird. You will see how hard it is.

Beliefs start on a neutral. If they started on a positive we’d have to believe in everything.
If they started on a negative we’d have to believe in nothing, not even existance, because we have no evidence beyond existance and using existance as evidence as existance is as circular as using scripture as proof of scripture (to be real) or dream experiences to prove that dreams are real.

He have right of everything... just like I said to gplex... you want god server you not you serve him...
Why would you want to serve a ruthless dictator?
How is he a dictator? Humans have killed each other far more than God has and God doesn’t forcibly program everyone to believe in him either. The only bad thing God has done in Abrahamic religions is made the flood and even then that was to kill millions of demons who were living on Earth and give humanity another chance at a fresh new world through Noah.
I’m not saying god is a dictator because he killed people, I’m saying he is a dictator because he has absolute power/authority over the universe.
He made the universe, doesn’t that give him ownership?

But he killed many humans in the process, also he is a dictator because he wants everyone to worship him and if you don’t well you go to hell. So no he doesn’t force you too.
Translations of the Hebrew word Sheol as “Hell” through verses which speak of a lake of fire is the wrong conclusion. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says “The living are conscious they will die, as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all”, meaning that all talk of a lake of fire is symbolic and that non-existance or death is the punishment for sin. If it wasn’t, howcome Jesus didn’t go to Eternal Hell for our sins? He didn’t do that. He died (supposedly). Thus dying is the price of sin in Christianity.
