You could always try reading 'the problem of pain' by CS Lewis. Its pretty good.
God certainly has the ability to destroy sin, pain and various other unpleasantness (like Red Bull) but if God wanted a world of puppets he could have made one. Though that would mean a world of slaves with no creativity or choice and, most importantly, no love. For example I can program this PC to tell me it loves me every time I switch it on but fortunately I don’t consider that very meaningful. If you asked out a girl and told her that you loved her and she responded in kind of her own free will that would be meaningful yes? But if you drugged her and dragged her into a basement and kept her locked up for 24 years (like that Austrian guy Mr Fritzl) and forced her to love you that would not be a meaningful love would it. She would be forced to love you and have no choice in the matter (which is why I don’t believe in the terrifying Allah)
Or if you pointed a gun in her face and demanded her love then she may even give it with tears in her eyes but it wouldn’t be genuine and it would make a world of difference to anyone you told about your 'relationship' about whether that love was real.
In short for any meaningful love, joy and happiness to exist there MUST be an alternative to choose from. No choice = slavery. This is also why Communism is not a pleasant system to live under
On a side note - most atheists have given up the use of pain, suffering, evil etc as a means of disproving God because to assume pain and suffering is evil and 'wrong' is to assume there is an alternative to evil which is 'good' To assume there is good and evil in the world is to assume there is an ultimate definition of said good and evil means there must be a moral law and if there is a moral law there must be a moral law giver which equals God - however to assume that right and wrong can be determined on what we 'feel' to be right or that all people automatically know whats 'right' genetically is not true - Herr Hitler believed he was good - as did the Nazi Schutzstaffel who pushed Jews and homosexuals into gas chambers, and the Aztecs believed they were good for their human sacrifice and harvesting neighbouring tribes for victims - in short in some cultures men eat their neighbours, abuse them and persecute them and in others they are taught to love them - I’m guessing you have a personal preference.
Feelings are an inadequate basis for our own morality.
You make alot of assumptions towards atheists my friend that are simply not true. I certianly believe in evil and good.
Good and evil are prospectives, Yes, in Hitler’s perspective he was good. To out perspective, he was evil. Different perspectives see? Even if you believe in God they are prospectives. God’s prospective might be that Satan is evil. Satan’s view is that God is evil. See my point? There is no true good or bad.
Did I mention feelings are a means of survival? All that you think is merely chemical reactions, all that you feel is the same. It’s sad to think about it that way but it is true.

Satan know that they evil but they want human following their actions...
“I am better than Adam, you create Adam from mud but I was from fire” Satan said to God.
“You curse me then I will make Adam and his sons to following and giving them a wall between you and them. So I will have company in Hell. But before that I want you to grant my wish that is to live until the end of the day (judgement day)" Satan said to god...
