Yes, let’s completely forget the Middle Ages, shall we? Wars, conflicts, massacres, and persecution in the name of religion have taken place countless times during history – whether you look at events centuries ago or even today. The violence in Northern Ireland, the Middle-East and Chechnya, are all fueled by religion to varying degrees. And let’s not forget the fact that colonialism in the late 1800’s and onward was justified by religious leaders and had a distinct Christian tone to it (e.g. that the colonizing countries were “civilizing” the barbarian peoples of Africa). The point is that while the various teachings of Jesus are certainly sensible, they weren’t new ideas thousands of years ago, and a number of things factor in to an individual’s morals.



What? How is this relevant to what I was saying? Obviously if you’re a Catholic and you murder someone then it’s against the religion, that’s common knowledge. I already addressed the issue of morals, which you completely ignored.


Yes, I’m sure that many people on this forum don’t care, but the fact that you type like the victim of cranial drill intrusion doesn’t help your argument.
