The Covenant technology is advanced. They stole their technology form an older race known as the Forerunners. Who were damn crazy advanced. Time travel, even machines that could warp reality. But much of the more powerful technologies such as these were hidden away. And the covenant rarely found them. So I’m not sure if those can be used in this battle.
Faster then light speed teleportation, invisible camo. Plasma weaponry that exceeds 16,000 degrees. And their army reaches over 40 trillion soldiers. Ranging from massive beats called hunters that use starship plating as armor. To small bug creatures that use their intelligence to repair ANY machine.
Humans have Mac cannons and advanced nuclear weapon systems. Along with the MarkV Suits.
The halo was designed to wipe out all organic matter in the universe. It’s power levels were so massive, the humans most advanced computer system couldn’t even calculate the number.
Simply put, the Halo when activated kills everything except for the tiniest of bacteria. It’s designed like this so they can evolve and life will once again and expand.

I can see why it won’t be used in this battle. I think the Death Star should be kept out, along with the Sun Crusher.
