What was it like the first time you moved out on your own? I ask because me and my gf are moving out together sometime this summer.

Does anybody have any words of wisdom or advice on moving out for the first time? Anything you wish you’d known about rent, utilities, life, etc., when you moved out that you’d care to pass on to me?

Well I moved out on my own so I would say its a lot different for you. I do know one thing though and that is being friends or having a GF and living with one another is a very different thing. Make sure you give one another the space you need. Don’t give up friends as friends are impotent so your not just spending all your time together. this way there is less chance that you well do each others head in and moor chance that it well work.

most importantly have fun party hard but pay the bills fist. the ppl that you have to pay the bills to like gas electric and even credit cards if you have or so get any do not live on another planet and well come knocking for there cash if need be.

Now I have dispensed this advice dose this mean I get an invite to the home worming party?

Its only selfish if your actions hurt other ppl. Wanting to do well for your self is not selfish.

Yeah, we’ve already got most of that covered. You can come to the house “worming” party once we actually find an apartment haha.

BTW, is firewolf around? He always gives good advice.

i was 23 when i moved out of my moms smiley and it was harder to meet both ends then i though,,now it depends if your girlfriend has a job to or not if she can help it will be easier if she can not id say just start out with being careful at what you buy in the beginning,,for the furniture don’t go for new in the beginning wait a bit you will be able to have that new stuff someday,

Yeah, we’re both working part time jobs and we’re going to divide up the housework too.

Fawk, I was 16 and a half and didn’t finish high school when I moved out on my own. I had a good buddy that was 19 at the time an looking for a room-mate to share the rent. My father beat my ass soo many times during my teens I had to get out! True story behind the life of Xtrm. As it turns out, I’m not doing too bad for myself these days, eh? Haha

YEa I meant house “warming” party of course lol

Well there is not much moor to advice really. I would say pay all the bills direct debt as its cheaper that way and stuff like that but all that could be different in your country.

You know what good on ye man. really I mean that.

BTW Do you speak to him any moor? my dad was totally beat on as a kid and even now has marks on hes back from where hes dad hit him with a belt has a kid and he has never said a bad word against him. I well never understand why he still loves that bastard of a man. I have never been hit BTW even though my dad always did have a bad temper when I was growing up but he never laid a finger on me. I respect him cos hes worked hard all hes life but well never understand the love he has for hes own dad. Thank god hes dad/my grandad well hes bean dead for years smiley And my Nana well she has enjoyed her life since the day hes been dead. That’s by her own words to me BTW.

Okay... I just found out I’m going to be moving out of state. So anybody have advice on that? Anything about driver’s license or anything else I might need to know about?
