I used to think it was Democracy, until I figured out that a majority of people haven’t a clue what’s best for them i.e. Presidents Nixon, Bush, Dubya, etc.

Now I’m not sure which form of government I actually like but I want to hear what you think.

Well I’ve been in a republic. Government wasn’t doing well mainly because of corruption.
But clearly most of todays top countries are democracies... Well, I think.

Depends who’s interests are at hand. Technically a facist government is the most effective, as the best interests are in that of the nation as a whole. But if you believe the citizen should be in the best interest, then a democracy is the best option.

However I don’t think there is a best form of government. Either way you go about it someone is going to have to sacrifice something. There is no ideal form of government. But I’d assume that the one America has, which has the oldest active constitution, is probably the best one nowadays. Of course for it to work perfectly, you need more citizen activity, but of course getting these fat Americans to do anything is impossible.

Theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena.

For those of you who’ve read the Freehold series, a meritocracy makes the most sense. It is a system where those most capable of ruling are chosen. This means that no everyday idiot can rule. It would be effective, especially if combined with certain qualities of a republic.

Who would decide the standards for who is most capable of ruling? And who will set the standards for the person who is setting the standards? And who is setting the standards for the standards of the person setting the standards? And so on.

A meritocracy does make the most sense to me though.

I’m Anarchist and I think we don’t need a government ruling over us. All humans could unite collectively to rule ourselves and live through co-operation instead of submission.

Anarchism does not necessarily equal manic chaos where people run around on killing sprees. The majority of humans can and will judge between right and wrong and are capable and willing to enforce justice and protect themselves and each other if need be.

Though I support Anarchy, I don’t believe it’s the only way. I actually agree with a lot of what that guy’s videos Gplex posted.

Sean, if there was no govt. what’s to stop me shooting you? Or if the people decided they don’t like you, they’d shoot you.

whats stops you from shooting someone now? Being brought to punishment for your actions?

You know, even in the society that Sean described, there is still social law. People would ban together in smaller groups, like towns and villages and defend their own. If someone, like you, decided to kill someone... good chances are that their fellow villagers would execute ya.
