-shrugs- Dunno, wasn’t here for that much. Nazi Spy has hacked this place plenty of times though, and those two seemed to be on equal leagues, though Nazi was much more friendly.
I think we need moar strict rules around here.
Do you use IP bans?
If they post as a guest we can ban their IP, though most users we have to use that on simply use a proxy or something.
Can we make it so that proxies cannot access this website? >.>
No, idea. lol. Probably not, though, with the way they work and all.

Well, here’s my solution.
1. Encourage all current non-trolling guests to make their own accounts at this website.
2. From then on, make it so that guests can no longer post.
AM I DOING DIS RITE?
Apparently, I cannot log into my account in GameFAQs while I’m using a proxy and GFAQs do not let you post as a guest, so... Yeah.

Regardless, there IS a more pressing matter of these PM’s at hand than that.

I’m actually thinking of the same thing. Most or some sites won’t let you post as a guest at all. Some won’t even let you get the home page without registering. In a sense, it helps the site grow.

Though a ban could be given out if they want to spam in threads.

Yeah, how many people do you think would trust others with their e-mail? ESPECIALLY when it is public. Before the PM system I shared my e-mail with a friend of mine, and not even a few days later I was flooded with spam from another user having registered me on dozens of sites.
Seriously, the PM system is not the problem. To answer your first question, technically yes we need PM’s or else everything is ridiculously public.

More or less, it’s people like RTIYS. Not really spammers specifically, just people like him.
As for bans, that is what this is mainly about, since people committing offences through PM’s that are reported cannot be dealt with, and the other things as well which can partially ensue legal issues.

Uhh.. This is getting harder wouldn’t you say? I think a new rule would be good, the choice for moderators to ban through PM. It would help out a lot.

I know. If Bjarne were here a little bit more often, then maybe we could get some thing done and settled.

That’s how things are in GFAQs.
There are two admins and few 'lead moderators' who have some admin powers.
