I’ve contacted Bjarne through e-mail and PM about this issue multiple times. Back when I was a moderator still. Hell, back when I was still the newb mod on the team.
It never really did any good. I thought that making a thread and forcing Ty at knife point to sticky it would be a good alternative to nothing.

Marly, the PM system has been a godsend. Somethings people don’t want to be on the public forum so they use the PM system, where it can be kept private. It was a great idea and if it were ever taken away, yeah, there’d be catastrophe. It’s way too useful to take away. Besides, adding a ban button to the top of a PM couldn’t be that difficult, we used to use a little cheat to do it anyways. So we know there’s a script for it in the system. Bjarne only has to create a linked button to said script.

People will be pissy, some will leave. Nobody complained of the addition of such a thing, and now that it’s a part of the site, do you really think they’ll just look at it and think “hey you know what, this is better” right away?

It’s the fact that it doesn’t revert smoothly at all that is a problem. Nobody else sees a problem with the system itself, why completely get rid of it?

This is actually quite easy for me to type out. Little effort upon my part is used to type it.
That is the point of being able to ban through PM’s. Public posts use a report system and we ban accordingly; that would be putting PM’s on the same level and still keeping them private.

It’s too bad PMs cannot be deleted without reading it beforehand.
Cid mentioned that in his first post here. They have a select post box where we can multi-delete posts. That option would be nice for threads but better for PM’s.

You’re basing it off Gamefaqs, which I am assuming never had a PM system. For the longest while this place didn’t and everyone was fine. Then it was implemented and it’s still fine. It’s the fact that it doesn’t revert smoothly at all that is a problem. Nobody else sees a problem with the system itself, why completely get rid of it?
I am me, not just a mod. If you’re going to assume that all moderators act the same way I do, you had better stop. I partially work on a different level then the rest do anyways. Unprofessional, kind of like a bounty hunter type of thing. I follow the rules, I do my job how I see it, and that’s that. If you’re going to comment about my anger issues, make sure it’s definitely noted that it’s MY anger issues.

Sending prons through PM is the major problem at this point, mah boi. Unless we can improve it, pron will continue. (Unless people like the prons and choose not to report them)
