Alot of times I hear some really messed up debate with DBZ. I will give some pretty solid evidence as to why PLS do not determine how much energy output you have. Let’s begin shall we?
Roshi Pulvirized the moon at the PL of 139 correct. The moon is 1/4 the size of the earth so logic dictates 556 would be the powerlevel you would need to blow up the world correct? Well lets do some calculations.
Raditz’s power level was 1500. Now. He can by logic blow up about 2 planets. (1500/556)
In Oozaru form(10x the normal state power) he would be busting planets 20x over (10 times 2=20)
Now Vegeta’s power was around 18k when he made the claim he could destroy the planet. But that really isn’t that impressive is it considering even RADITZ in Oozaru form could bust 20 planets.
Why would he brag about destroying just ONE planet when he has enough power to destroy 32 Planets but it gets even crazier people. Oozaru Vegeta could bust 323 planets(Can be rounded to 324 because it is 323.7)
If you thought that is good psshhhh... Goku by the fight with Captian Ginyu is already more than twice as strong as he was. (His PL is 180,000 at this time) lets see...323 planets hmmmmm(Same as Vegeta’s actually in Oozaru form)
Lets speed up and go to 2nd form Frieza. With the PL of about 1 mil. Now he should be able to blow up 1798 planets. Let me remind you thats more than this solar system has and I think 1798 planets are bigger than the sun...But I digress.
Goku SSJ PL 150,000,000. How many planets can he bust? 188,790. Yes people that many.
Speed up shall we? Cell’s PL apperently is about 350,000,000 lets see here: 629,496 planets. If he could do that why the hell brag about being able to destroy the solar system? Makes you wonder eh?
Now. Apperently SSJ3 Goku was around 900 mil? Lets see how many planets now: 1,618,705 planets.
Actually DBZ characters CAN control how the output their energy,

This is the only reason why the planet does not get destroyed. Wouldn’t be very smart of them to destroy the planet that they are on.
Goku Kamehameha his much stronger then Roshi Moon pulverising Kamehameha, he can concentrate all the energy down on someones head eg.
Here Is Gohan killing the cell jr who are stronger then Vegeta. (at that time) The same Vegeta that is millions of times stronger then Goku at the begining of dbz. The same Goku (at the begining of dbz) who could shake off Roshi Moon pulverising Kamehameha with ease.
This proves that Gohan is capable of concentrating his energy in every blow.

The issue of speed:
Let us use the best speed feat in dbz shall we
You know what I’m being generous and saying he took a 29 minute nap and DID circle the globe 9 times in a few seconds.
This means SSJ Gotenks was traveling about 45,000 mps. That is FAR FAR FAR FAR below lightspeed. What about SSJ3 you ask? Well obviously it can’t be that much faster. Why? because feats show otherwise.
But you know what I’m being generous today, I’m going to say SSJ3 goes 100,000 mps faster. Thats more than double speed guys. This means if SSJ Gotenks and SSJ3 Gotenks had a race, in 1 second SSJ3 Gotenks would be 100,000 miles away and guess what? Even if that IS true 145,000 mps is still quite a ways off lightspeed.

Now Goku had a powerlevel of 416. When he got back from training he had a powerlevel of 8000. So hes 19.23x faster. (acutally hes 90x faster because he cross snakeway 90 times faster then he orignally did - took 6 months one way 2 days the other (30*6)/2=90)
Next he gets to 180000. making him 36x faster on that. (Where he could be much quicker) So goku when he gets to namic is ((1224000*19.23*36=847350720)/299792458 = 2.83) 2.83x the speed of light (absolute minimum) This lines up perfectly with burter who claim he was faster then light. (Where he has to be much faster then 2.83x the speed of light for burter not to see him, but as you can see all the numbers have been pulled down to their absolute lowest values that can not be disputed)
I would like to point out that he could easily do 20x Kaioken when he got to namic, and even higher so if he has too. So if goku could turn ssj1 when he got to namic he would be over 100x faster then light. You can just imagine how fast he would be when he is fighting cell or even buu at ssj3.

No your PL does not determine how durable you are. This one is short and to the point.
Frieza, a far less powerful being than FPSSJ Goku survived a planet buster even after getting beaten badly. So why is it Cell’s planet busting bomb killed Goku?
Simple, Powerlevels do not determine your durability.
A couple times it has been stated a characters can destroy the universe.(Broly and Janemba) Now here’s my case against that.
Let us give Broly the benifit of the doubt and say he destroyed the whole south galaxy in SSJ form. Now to destroy the whole universe in one go he would have to be hundreds of billions perhaps TRILLIONS of times more powerful, why you ask? because of the other galaxies he must destroy and the distance between them.
Janemba hasn’t even shown galaxy busting potential. Reality warping heaven and hell and screwing up the balance of death yes, but nothing special in the energy output department.
