Firewolf. Would you say the exact same thing to someone you have known for a while on this site (Cid, TY and... Me?). Or is this just directed too the people ho you dont give a flying fuck about (e.g. Newbies)? Sorry for being a tad ignorant on this matter I am just struggling to comprehend the stupidity of the site at the moment...

If you have a genuine reason for making a leaving topic, eg a modeator resigning PERMANTLY or the fact that you have heaps and heaps of friends on here (too many to send a pm to) fair enough, but to just make a topic in some hopes of getting some attention, which most seem to be...Its not needed. especially when they come back again.

Had they not have made a topic, they would have been gone for a few days and nobody would have noticed..

I think people just want to make a topic to signify that they are leaving to their few or many friends so that they dont think he/she just left without a goodbye.

Also making it public means everyone knows that this person is gone temporarily/long term/permanantly so that they know not to bump topics this person is in charge of or not to reply to any of his pre-leaving comments.

Also many people who are not their “freinds” may want to say good bye too. And erase him from any fan clubs/clans/groups on the site if he is a permanant leaver.
