Aside from free porn, I think the Internet is definitely one of the biggest factors as to why we’re seeing a growing population of atheists. I would say this is mostly from youtube videos made from atheists, but what do you think?

Possibly. I have never thought of it like that, but it’s possible.

People are just coming to their senses and realizing that even if a 'God' does exist he doesn’t care about them. That’s all.

People are discussing God over the internet, and because of Atheists/Nihilists, etc. using logic against religion, some people have converted to atheism.

The Internet (aside from the porn) is about the free exchange of ideas. Instead of being told what to believe, people are looking at other opinions and deciding for themselves whether they are worthy of consideration or not, one of them being that there is no god.

that’s my take on the Internet.

Interesting thought, but I think I disagree.
Not to say that the internet isn’t a contributing factor in choosing to be atheist, but I don’t know if it’s “the” factor.
And I would most definitely say that youtube videos specifically are not some sort of grand swaying factor. Youtube may be big...but it’s not that big, at least in terms of life changing decisions, imo.

From what I’ve seen, It seems that the internet is becoming a preferred way for people to “come out”, so to speak, with their true atheistic feelings, without having to deal with the consequences of those who disagree. It is a much safer place to publicly discuss how they really feel about such beliefs, and I’m sure that many of the kids you see discussing it have parents or family that have NO idea how their kids actually feel about their religion, and would act quite hostilely if they were to find out. Definetly a vent for those who feel their beliefs have been repressed.
