I’m aware that the overwhelming winner would probably be Cloud, but the more interesting thing would be what happens if Cloud wins? Would he be able to resist the lure of the Soul Edge? It would probably whisper promises to protect (or even bring back...) the people he cares about. Would the lure of resurrecting both Aeris and the whole of his hometown be too much?
And what would happen if he took the sword? What would evil Cloud be like? And how would evil cloud fare against Sephiroth? And why are they using Star Wars characters when Square Enix would probably have let them use FF chars for cheaper? The mind boggles...

But nevertheless, this is a good debate.

Cloud would become even more emo.
He becomes possessed.
Aeris stops him with Soul Calibur. ---

Not actually too unfeasible (even with Seph in control of some of the lifestream Aeris still manages to appear to Cloud, so if it’s important enough, with the aid of the Soul Calibur she could perhaps come back).
On the whole I really want to see this made into a film or game Last edited 27 Jun 2008 06:49 pm by Lost Swordsman

I’ve already had a much more awesome idea.
A crossover between FF7, Devil May Cry, and Castlevania. ---

Ok...
Sephiroth and Dracula are doing their evil stuff.
Dante, Cloud, and Soma fight each other, realize they’re on the same side, team up, and go fight evil.
Dracula mind controls Alucard into attacking Soma. They transform and have a giant monster demon fight in a city.
Dante and Cloud meanwhile resurrect the entire Belmont clan, which attacks Sephiroth. All of the Belmonts put together can only barely fend him off.
= awesome. ---

I do indeed. I’m not much of a fan of Tekken, and Virtua Fighter is a bit too technical for me, but I love the whole Soul series and I’ve been know to dabble in DOA. Believe it or not I even enjoyed the monstrosity that was Masters of Teras Kasi, although I draw the line at Erghiez. I’m also partial to Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat 1+2, although later installments in both series' left me cold.
I’m currently playing DBZ Shin Budokai 2 but it hits a bit of a crazy difficulty curve later on and the gameplay isn’t quite compelling enough to make me carry on.
Can’t wait for Soul Calibur IV, it’s gonna be sooo awesome. And then there’s the small matter of Dissidia....
