Burst limit. The Tenkaichi series is outdated. The only interaction with the environment is crumbling buildings and the moon and the combos are few. You can just keep pressing A and then do special moves and shoot balls. Not much there. All the characters feel exactly the same with little to no differences except for size.
It was great when it first came out but it’s already showing its age. I heard Burst Limit is quite up to date as a fighting game.
I LOVE Dragon Ball Z but I have to admit most of the home console Dragon Ball Z games were subpar.
I loved the Budokai series but the first two games were subpar and it was only the third one that was average.
I had the same love for the Tenkaichi series but the first one was average at the time and the sequel were outdated by the time they came out and lacked solid gameplay.
Burst Limit am hyped about and have played the demo, which unlike the past series has solid gameplay, but the game only seems average or B- at the most.
The best Dragon Ball Z games were on the DS and PSP. They had solid gameplay and a fair amount of unlockable but it’s the solid gameplay that is important.
Despite how much I love Tenkaichi and Budokai, both series a very poor with the only exception in the series being Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 1, which are both outdated by now. ---

I KNOW how to combo. You combo by pressing one button and you keep pressing that button. Soon your combo will soar with several hits.
But there are no multi button combos. That’s a fact.
It has no combos like Soul Calibur and Tekken or the past Dragon Ball Z games.
You just press one effing button and press it some more to create a combo. It’s not even a fighter. It’s a brawler and a poor one. I want to slam people into the ground in real time and pick up buildings and throw it at them. I want a real beat down with multi button combos.
No, it’s not a fact. There are multi-button combos.
They begin with square and end with one other button or square. That’s not a multi button combo.
Dynasty Warriors is the same exact way and it’s not a fighting game. It’s a brawler/action-srategy game. ---

I was in awe when I played both of them. They were just very well made. Of course, they are not that big of updates compared to the first games in their series but the gameplay is solid and deep enough for them to not get boring too fast. Just very well made.
Too bad they haven’t made games like those for home consoles yet. ---

King of the Gamer Army Rep: 38 Joined: 22 Nov 2005 Posts: 14,674 OFFLINE | They should make the four face buttons on the controller generic attack buttons, build a lot of combos off of the those, make a should button an action button to interact with objects, buildings, and whatever else in the environment, and have another shoulder button held down to turn the face buttons into different energy blast moves with one of the face buttons being used to recharge energy and by holding down the shoulder button and pressing the action shoulder button you change forms or go super saiyan. Then change the right analog stick into grapple and grab moves. While holding down the shoulder button the grapple and grab moves are replaced with specials. One of the left shoulder buttons is block and the other one is burst/fly. The flying mechanics need to be updated to use only one shoulder button with smart and context sensitive controls. The only thing that’s need is a camera that’s a bit farther back and smart.
That’s the entire Tenkaichi series' biggest problem solved.
It will finally have solid gameplay. ---

But if they solve the poor gameplay issue it will be amazing regardless of how poor the storyline is.
I forgot to mention to make 4 players, if possible 8. Then it will the best fighting/brawling hybrid game on the market. ---

If they can add in a more advanced physics engine for the buildings and objects and make them more realistically destructible that would be amazing. I can see an energy blast going through a building followed by someone flying through the whole and instead of the building just crumbling it’s still standing with the damage done to it.
Or a large energy blast takes out half the building and the other half is still standing. And virtually any object, peace of a building, poles, boulders, a chunk of ground, ANYTHING can be used as a weapon to hit or throw with. The objects can be punched and by another player can crumble in their hands and any object can be used to slam someone against or through. ---

In all honesty though, Arale didn’t have much going for her as a character in that game, while Raditz had some relitivly fast heavy hitting combos. I still think they should add these features to the next game:
More realistic battleground damage
Some kind of leveling system
Create your a blast(Blast 1,2,or ultimate)
Create a combo
And you could add those blasts and combos you create to a character, like put your moves in place of already existing moves. That way there is more variety. ---

That would be nice to see, and as I’ve said before, a great storyline. Imagine if the adventure modes were more GTA like, being able to fly where you wanted, go into a building, etc.

Also think of it this way, an interactive storyline. Like for instance...You can join Raditz and kill a bunch of people, instead of letting Frieza go on Namek you kill him. Stuff like that. ---

Yeah, make your own choices, good or evil. And it should start at the beginning. I mean right before Goku was born and when Bardock was still alive.
