Rev Al Sharpton (ran in 04) wouldn’t have stood a chance against hillary. And neither would have Jessie Jackson. So Obama’s being black had little to do with a lot of his victories. It did for some like south carolina but not others like iowa.

It’s the environment that they grew up in that generated their racism, so they aren’t going to to just say, “hey, we were stupid this whole time”. I already read the news that blacks celebrities are already talking about balancing race since obama is elected. So many bad scenarios running through my head when the moment comes when america will wonder they really want to hear black preachers and activist again.

Good point. It seemed like a lot of people did vote based on race rather than policies.
In a survey by Howard Stern they asked a lot of African Americans who they would vote for, the majority said Obama. He then proceeded to list McCain’s policies and say they were Obama’s and the black democrats agreed.
