Yeah, we did but it was pretty even. Broly had the advantage because he gets stronger and gains more energy as the fight goes on and supes was decided not to be able to sundip so thats why we decided it.

Hmmm, I doubt that Weiss was injected with Genesis' cells in the womb, seeing as Genesis was still an active member of SOLDIER at that point. An adult Weiss turns up to retrieve Genesis at the end of Crisis Core and seems pretty unmoved by him, almost as if he has no idea of his supposed importance (not forgetting that this is just after Zack has handed G his ass on a plate, so he’s as powerful as Seph, who Zack couldn’t beat, how?). Weiss may have been injected with the same cells as Genesis was, but experimentation with Genesis' cells could not have occurred until after that point. The events of Crisis Core show that G cells mutate and degenerate their hosts, providing distinctly individual forms and abilities, but J cells produce the more powerful and better balanced soldier. Surely this would mean that Weiss has a wider range of special abilities (as we know he does), he still isn’t as powerful as Cloud or Seph. Cloud has been forged through more hardship than Weiss has endured, and of the cells used to enhance them, Cloud has the superior.
Don’t forget that this occurs as Zack and Cloud are setting off to Midgar, so immediatly before the events of VII. If Deepground were really that much more powerful than ordinary SOLDIER operatives (other than their individual special abilities) you’d think they’d get their own uniform rather than just the SOLDIER uniform with a different emblem on their belt.
Of course, let’s not forget that (unless they also have J cells) all the Deepground crew are prone to degenerate the same way genesis did, after all he only recovered from it due to his tranformation at the hands of Minerva. Thing is, Genesis started to degrade in his twenties, so the Deepground SOLDIERs only have a few years left, if that, before it happens to them, meaning they could start to dramatically begin to mutate and weaken very soon.
My vote here’s for Cloud, I think Weiss' power was exaggerated way too much by Square-Enix’s need to augment Dirge’s dire gameplay with awesome fmv. Sure his fights were more impressive, they had to be.

Weiss, Nero, and Rosso were not injected with Genesis' cells, in the womb. They were injected with Genesis' genes, in the womb. And that’s the difference between them and the Genesis Copies of CC. That’s why the Tsviets wont degenerate, and that’s the reson for Weiss and Nero calling Genesis, “big brother”.
It seems that Genesis' genes have different “properties” than his full cells. Even the creators stated that there is a secret behind his genes.
IMO after the Nibelheim incident, Zack became more powerful because of Hojo’s experiments on him. That’s the only explanation I could find for Zack beating Genesis, who was equal to Sephiroth. And for beating Genesis Avatar too, who was even stronger than normal Genesis.
Genesis' genes would contain the same defect IMO, I think distinguishing between cells and genes in this particular context is splitting hairs really. Even so, how old would that make Genesis (or how young would it make all of the Tsviets) for it to have happened in the womb? Genesis genes are just a normal person’s without the cells added anyway, so either way it’s not so good for the Tsviets unless they came from Genesis after he’d been 'fixed' by 'the gift of the Goddess'. That’s impossible however, as when that happens, Weiss and Nero are already adults.
If Zack is massively souped up at that point, and Cloud had the same experiments done on him, and Cloud kileed Seph (who had already spanked Zack), then by that rationale Cloud becomes a clear winner. Hmmm, Cloud vs Genesis (CC era, we don’t know if he’s changed by the end of Dirge), that’d be a good one.

I think that could just mean that he ends up with some kind of similarity of personality or some influence over them I guess, like Seph had over his clones maybe? They were able to function independently until he bent his will towards them. Maybe the Tsviets will become Genesis' mindless servants at some point. Either way, I suspect we’ll get to see Cloud vs Genesis or Weiss soon enough, can’t wait for the announcement
I guess I agree, Cloud seems to beat Seph mainly due to being underestimated, but I’d really like to think that even if he’s not technically the strongest he has some quality that gives him the edge over seemingly more powerful foes. That said, during Cloud' AC fight with Seph, Tifa says something along the lines of Cloud having got 'some of' his drive or energy or whatever back, so I think we only saw a fracton of what Square think he’s capable of.
But I think Weiss is superior to even Pre-Nibel Sephiroth. Why? Because his fight with Azul and Rosso was much more impressive than Sephiroth’s fight with Genesis.
Well Rosso and Azul aren’t exactly Genesis, but it wasn’t really a “fight” more of a spar so to speak.
Weiss only really showed what he was capable of when he was in Omega form, that form I believe is greater than Pre Nible Sephiroth.
