Square have said there’s still a game left in the compilation, and that was while they were still saying there are no plans for a VII remake. Not to mention the cliffhanger with Genesis at the end of DoC. I personally think that Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus have been subtly building towards a final installment that (I hope) will be a full scale Final Fantasy title in it’s own right.

I believe the final game in the compilation will star Cloud again, and Genesis, Weiss etc will be either the antagonists or unlikely allies. If (see below), Sephiroth comes back as villain, then I think allies is likely, as Genesis was never 'evil' per se (nor was Weiss), he just wanted to take the world with him. Now he’s essentially ok again, he’s less likely to seek destruction of the world that bears his beloved Goddess. Plus, Sephiroth left him to rot, so he’s not gonna be bst pleased with him.

Now the big question is, if Seph can bring himself back from the lifestream, will he be the main villain again, and might we even see the much vaunted return of everybody’s favourite ribbon loving ancient...? As much as I’d love to see Zack return, he probably doesn’t have the willpower of Aeris or Sephiroth, but I reckon he will show up alongside Aeris in dream-sequence type things like he did in AC. Hopefully he’ll look like he did in CC though, he looked like a douche in AC.

Anyhoo, what are other people’s theories on the final installment in the compilation (not the remake)?

Another game? You’re not talking about the other FF XIII called FF XIII Versus?

Nope, I’m talking about the fact that square have said they haven’t finished with the 'Compilation of Final Fantasy VII' yet.

You should definitely play Crisis Core dude, it’s awesome. It clarifies a lot about Genesis, definitely puts Deepground in context as far as abilities go, really turns Zack into a great character, and I can’t say any more but the ending actually made me cry slightly. It’s that good. And the gameplay is actually good, unlike Dirge. I do intend to play through Dirge properly to experience the story firsthand rather than just what I’ve read and heard, but I don’t have a PS2 at the moment. I’ve seen and heard enough to really want the next installment though. Of course I want the remake just that little bit more (another reason to buy Crisis Core, the post ending credits scene, contrary to what you may have heard, is not quite the same as the PS3 tech demo. You’ll see what I mean...), but I still can’t wait.

First off...

http://adventchildren.net/

In other news, the upcoming Square Enix Private Party 2008, DKΣ3713, will feature Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete, which will recieve a release date announcement. In a recent interview with Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Nomura revealed that ACC would include a new scenario in addition to several changed scenes, and that a major announcement related to Final Fantasy VII would be made at the Party.

Now, it’s likely there will be another FF7 game to finish off the compilation. And I have an amazing theory on what’s going to happen as well. I’ll share if anyone cares to hear/read.

Genesis and Sephiroth are pretty much polar opposites of one another. Genesis wears bright clothing Sephiroth wears dark. Genesis holds his sword in his right hand, Seph his left. Genesis' wing is on his left shoulder Seph’s is on his right.

I believe Sephiroth and Genesis are two halves of an even greater being. This really fits in with the reason Genesis took Weiss' body away at the end of DOC. Weiss was created of Genesis and Sephiroth and as such had G-Cells and S-Cells. His body would be the perfect host to both Sephiroth and Genesis.

Genesis likely has a plan to try to force (or manipulate) Sephiroth into using Weiss' body. Then, he’s going to attempt to take control himself, gaining Sephiroth’s powers and a super powerful body of his own. This will also finally stop the degradation process that had began in Crisis Core.

=D

Intriguing, here’s my take on it all.

Loveless refers to a time when beasts threaten to destroy the land (or something similar), and that he will 'find journeys end, in my own salvation'. Read on. My personal view is that neither Genesis nor his Deepground 'brothers' were ever truly evil, just misguided, so although I don’t think they will be the good guys, I think that Genesis will have his own epic war with Sephiroth and Avalanche will be caught in the middle. Genesis will be trying to bring the weapons back to tear the planet asunder, as he believes that according to loveless, that’s where his salvation lies if he is still degenerating. Obviously, Sephiroth does not want the planet destroyed, he wants to 'sail the darkness of the void (or something similar) with this planet as my vessel'. I woul also imagine that he doesn’t want another rival who can hold his own against him either. Of course, when Seph inadvertantly comes up with some insane schee involving the destruction of everything but himself (including the destruction, of Genesis' precious Minerva, goddess of the planet), Genesis, being not that bad really, will probably sacrifice himself to help Cloud and co, finding the end of his journey, death, in his salvation, the gift of the goddess: oneness with the lifestream. This will probably leave the newly inspired surviving Tsviets (did any other than Weiss survive?) to mop up whoever Seph’s new super cronies are (or an army of eph projections maybe) while Cloud goes after the last true remnant of Seph once and for all.

Of course this is all just interesting speculation, I can’t wait to see what actually happens, although I really hope it’s another one that makes it to 360 smiley

I love the concept. Maybe they could do something involving both of our ideas?

Anyways. We’ll NEVER see an FF7 title on a platform that isn’t of the PS brand. lol. Sony would pour millions to keep it exclusive. FF7 is just too damn big to let it go to MS.
