Yeah, being in the war helps the cause, there’s no denying that, but I’m sure there are pleanty of people there just “taking orders” and not asking questions, thus not really having an idea of what’s going on.

Their view is narrow, because they just have to be there, thinking on their feet the whole time. Meanwhile, those of us who are at home with an internet connection, can easily learn the actual workings of the war and motives for certain actions that the troops would never be able to get where they are.

So yeah, troops can speak more on the experience of war, but that’s not to say they are any more educated on the workings of the war they’re fighting in.

Just my two cents.

The troop’s view is narrow on politics.

Their view is NOT narrow on war.

They understand war better than any of us that haven’t be involved in one.

Politicians understand the politics of war btu they do not understand war.

Their view can be narrow on a war. Like I said, they just have to take orders, but war is more than just battle. The politics of the war are just as important as any other part of a war. When you read about a war in a book, you read about what caused it, and why certain things are happening. The troops probably don’t have the luxury of knowing that. They’re just gears in the clock of the war. Like how your 14 year old burger-flipper at McDonalds has no idea about how McDonalds works as a company. That’s not what they’re there to do. They have a job and they have to do it. Their view is set on what they have to do, 'cause if it’s not they can get killed.

I support the Iraqi people fighting for their families in Iraq.
Do you know why our troops volunteer to go? Obviously not. They go for the civilians over there. More than you can ever do.
It’s pathetic you talk about who we should support when you don’t even go out and support them. Why don’t you go to Iraq and die for the civilians just like our troops are doing.
You should look at my respect thread. Notice in most of the pictures there are civilians? Notice they’re all kids?

If the USA was purely doing it to overthrow the dictatorship, why didn’t they go to China in 1989 after Tianamen square? Why didn’t they leave Iraq after Saddam was destroyed? Why aren’t they in North Korea now? Is it really all that heroic if you’ve cause 90,000 innocents on the other side to die and make the civillians on our side a target for attacks?

Don’t combine the troop’s reasons for fighting with the politicians'.
They are NOT the same.

They’re still supporting the politicians nevertheless, for whatever reason they’re doing it for, and the end results are the same. But like I’ve said, I’m basically against the war, not the troops. The fact that I defended Ram doesn’t mean I agree with him 100% and disagree with 21gamer 100%.

By your logic civilians are supporting the politicians too by voting them into office.
The troops are not supporting the politicians. Maybe a dirty politician is using the opportunity to get rich but that doesn’t mean the troops are supporting them. Alot of troops despise the politicians but the troops use the politicians too. Civilians use the politicians. It’s a dirty political game that we are all forced to play unless we get rid of the government and live in complete anarchy. We can’t change it.

That’s what I was trying to say on the 46th post on this thread.

If voted for them to support a specific policy they announced to carry out, then yes.

I’m not pissed off with 21 JUST because he defended the troops, I’m pissed off because he made tons of reasonless insults and said this;

It’s like being against the war means you deserve to be spoken to like that.

Your point? You say violence is wrong. A troop commits acts of violence and tells you peace is not always right.
You offended him he offends you.
His insult was not reasonless. Your idea of peace is alway the answer and violence is not the answer and is wrong is just as offensive.

OP is 21’s account. It doesn’t mean he’s the only one with the password.

Ok. Quit causing trouble. I am not 21. He gave three people the password to this account. I am one of those three.

I offended him/you/whatever? I did nothing until after he spoke. If you offend someone before they offend you it CANNOT be payback. He’s just generalizing, and I’m pissed off. Note he simply named the topic “anti-war”, not “anti-troops”.

I can’t say exactly what it was but I don’t think you have a grasp on the situation.
“Peace is always the answer and violence is always wrong." That’s the pretty much opposite of what 21 said. At least that’s what he was attacking from what I can see. If you don’t believe in what’s in quotations I don’t know why you’re offended. Do you really believe peace is always the answer and violence is always wrong?
If you do you can’t complain about 21’s phrase being offensive because yours is just as offensive back. It’s almost like a balance. I would laugh but with people upset it’s not funny right now.
I doubt 21 believes war is always the answer.
