The FACT, is that neversoft has completely fucked up Guitar Hero as a franchise and ruined any fun it had to begin with. Guitar Hero III sucked, Guitar Hero Aerosmith was terrible and a bad idea to start, Guitar Hero 4 will suck just as well. Neversoft can’t do anything right.

Hey if you want to waste hours tediously making your own songs with a guitar controller with 5 buttons go ahead.
Guitar Hero III was awesome. I loved the battle mode and new songs. And at least support why it wasn’t good.
Guitar Hero III was the worst in the series. Especially as far as presentation, with shotty graphics, low framerates, and the whole layout being terrible.
Not to mention the song list was full of shitty nu metal songs and other songs that don’t focus on guitar at all. I mean come on, Weezer? The entirety of GHIII was a shit sandwich.
Presentation, graphics, low framerates, and the layout do not make a game where you can barely see that image or cannot at all effect the game. There you go again, trying to make up some bull shit that has nothing to do with the gameplay. To me, all I see in Rock Band 2 are more songs. I don’t see any improvement at all. World Tour is a huge jump from GHIII. Admit it, we both can see it.
How about the fact that there is virtually no difference between Hard and Expert mode in GHIII? Or the fact that all the songs, as said before, pretty much suck. Maybe the fact that presentation DOES effect the game, since the lack of the vibrant colors in GHIII that GH and GHII had just made it depressing to look at.
GH4 is a huge jump from GHIII, yeah, about as much of a jump as Rock Band was from GHII. Actually, it’s about the exact same amount of a jump since GH4 is a carbon copy of Rock Band with garage band tossed in for kicks. Except it lacks that whole “not depressing looking” aspect of it.
Oooh, on Hard and Expert have no difference, lets call it the worst GH game. GHIII had an absolutely awesome track, best in any GH game. But now, we’re not talking about GHIII or Rock Band, we are talking about World Tour and Rock Band 2. Virtually the same, but World Tour just looks better at this point. A lot better. You can make up minor excuses to why GHIII is bad, or admit that you were wrong.
The fact is Neversoft sucks at making music games, and GHIII had the worst tracks ever.
Now if you want to lap up the shit they keep churning out and calling “Guitar Hero” now, which is basically Rock band but not as fun, go ahead. I’ll be playing a game with a decent setlist and an original idea that wasn’t jacked from some hacks who are only good for Tony Hawk games.
Did you even listen to what I said.
Yes, did you listen to what I said? Neversoft can’t make music games for shit. I guarantee you the track listing will suck and you’ll get bored of how tedious the song maker is in about a week.

That whole post was filled with ignorance...
Why is it that I can play expert on Rock Band but not GH? Rock band was fucking easy for the most part compared to GH3!
Rock Band expert mode is on the same level as expert mode in Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. Want to know why things are harder in Guitar Hero 3? Because Neversoft can’t fucking make a music game, that’s why. They tried boosting the difficulty of the game too much from the previous games and it didn’t work. Things are harder in GH3 because you are quite literally playing notes that aren’t there. It’s hard to tell in solos and fast parts, which is mainly where they get away with it, but they will add notes at awkward times just to raise the difficulty setting, at the cost of actually keeping the game on time with the music.
At least they mix it up a lot with different notes, RB relies on speed to much for difficulty.
Were you not listening? By adding notes and chords that aren’t really there in the first place, they make it so you might as well not even be playing a music game anymore, and just simon says with background noise. At least with speed there’s still the musical aspect to it, instead of just tapping away without rhythm in the hopes that you get the note that’s not even actually in the song.
The reason I didn’t worry too much about your last post is because it is fucking arrogant, show me these “Notes that arent really in the fucking song” I dont know what the fuck you are talking about. I loved both GH2 and 3 and if I liked 3 without Harmonix then I am not worried about WT. I mean have you seen it?
Play the game and pay attention during a solo. How do you not know what I am talking about? I’ll make this as easy as I can
Let’s say that in a certain part of a solo, the notes would normally go
-O-O-
O — —
O — —
-O-O-
Just making that hypothetical segment up to show an example. Anyway, let’s say that’s how the song is MEANT to go. However, Neversoft has already made it as close to the original song in Hard mode, so how can they make it more challenging in Expert? By adding notes and chords that aren’t really there. The same segment of the song then becomes
-O-O-
O — -O
— O —
O — —
OO — -
-O-O-
I can’t really make it any simpler than “they add notes that don’t really exist in the song, and by doing this, they rob the game of the music aspect entirely”.

You’re right. Why would anyone think to that putting a song that doesn’t make the guitar work the primary focus, or even challenging, into a game based around playing the guitar? yes, a game called guitar hero which is based solely around guitar work, should make room for songs whose guitar role is just the same two segments repeated over and over again.

Is it that they are not there....no maybe it is that the note is really more complicated then shown. On hard the note will be green red so that it is easier on hard than on expert where the note really is complicated like red orange.... On RB I was fucking drumming on medium and I hit one pad and it mad two sounds, I know that is because I was on medium and on expert I will really have to hit several pads to make the real sound....well that is what I am trying to say....

But I guess you won’t have lost much, since you’ve basically bought a watered down carbon copy of Rock Band.
Have you seen the songs they have already confirmed? Why are you fucking complaning?
Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Sublime...
yep, just as I suspected, shitty-ass songs by shitty-ass bands.
You lost... stop, you’re losing even more.
No, everyone knows that those bands suck. If you think otherwise, it’s obvious that I shouldn’t waste my time discussing the warrants of a music-based game with you. If a song is repetitive, playing it is boring. Simple as that.
G’NR
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Black Sabbath
SRV
Santana
Dragonforce
Foghat
Cream
Tenacious D
Living Colour
Pearl Jam (Even Flow was very good for a grunge song)
Sex Pistols
Final boss song was pretty good
The Who
ZZ Top
Aerosmith
Whoeva did Mississipi Queen
And more
A good half of the bands there, as well as the majority of the songs on the game, are either boring or don’t focus on guitar work enough to warrant being in a guitar hero game.
Every one of the songs by those bands are ran heavily by guitar, WTF are you talking about?
Sex Pistols, Tenacious D (funny as they are, aren’t noted for their complicated guitar work), ZZ Top? They may use distortion but their stuff isn’t difficult at all, unless they add in notes that aren’t there.
It is called variety, why does the guitar have to be the most complicated shit just to be in the song?
You’re right. Why would anyone think to that putting a song that doesn’t make the guitar work the primary focus, or even challenging, into a game based around playing the guitar? yes, a game called guitar hero which is based solely around guitar work, should make room for songs whose guitar role is just the same two segments repeated over and over again.
People vary, for example, those are some of me favorite songs.
Yeah, it’s got to be really fun playing

50 times until the song ends. I mean that’s what makes a game fun right? Playing the same sequence of notes until the song’s over, with maybe a slight change by moving all the notes down to the right? Yeah, that’s one fun-ass game to play.
I love it when notes repeat in Guitar Hero, it is awesome, it’s fun, and you can’t make it better.

Oh please, yes I dont like Linkin Park but does that mean the game sucks hell no, sorry Atresac... the game has variety for all people not just you, there wont be a game in which every song fits to your liking.... You cant tell me you like every fucking song on RB....

I don’t know what you’re getting at. I’m talking about the notes in the game in comparisson to the actual song. Notes during solos will not actually exist in the song, and won’t match up with the rhythm either.

I don’t care if I like the song, the point is will the game work for a music-based game and be fun. If a song, by any band, is the same notes over and over, the same beats over and over, it gets really boring really fast. Bands like Linkin Park and Michael Jackson excel at writing 7 seconds worth of music, and turning it into a 4 minute song. At that point, if you play the first segment of the song once, it’s just an endurance contest.
