Satannish the Supreme
Satannish (also known as Satannish the Supreme) is known as one of the Earth’s most powerful demons to have dealings with the people of Earth. He hid his true origins by leading people to believe that he originally existed as apart of a great mass of evil mystical energy, which eventually divided itself into a number of individual entities and created entities such as Mephisto, Thog and other unidentified demonic beings. The evil mystical energy came from Atum’s battle with Chthon and Set.
Satannish inhabited a pocket dimension accessible from Earth, and over the centuries he has had frequent dealings with many of the people of Earth. Satannish has granted his human worshippers supernatural powers in exchange for their souls. Many of Satannish’s worshippers who have made such bargains with him garbed themselves in red ritualistic costumes and referred to themselves as the Sons of Satannish.
Earth’s current Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, has on occasion invoked Satannish when casting a spell, but he prefers not to do so, since calling on demons for power can be dangerous. Strange, of course, has never traded his soul to Satannish for power.

Powers and Abilities
Satannish is more akin to a supernatural force of nature than a being; as such he possesses virtually unlimited mystic power which can be used for a variety of effects, including (but not limited to) interdimensional teleportation, manipulation of time, space, and matter, size transformations, casting bolts of mystical energy as destructive force, demonic possession, and physical strenghth and durability.
Satannish is a being of mystical power that can generate mystical energies of himself. Those energies can be called upon by sorcerers through incantations. But not all forms of mystical energy are available to Satannish in this way. Only those dark energies produced by himself. (Even the Vishanti cannot control all without the approval of the deity that controls the specific energies. For instance: Cyttorak produce all crimson energies that make up the crimson bands, rings and ruby. The Faltine control all flame-like energies. For all other feats he has to manipulate mystical energy like any normal sorcerer.)
The ability to tap this universe’s infinite store of ambient magical energy and manipulate these to a variety of effects. A skill derived from three major sources: personal powers of the mind/soul/body, powers gained by tapping the universe’s ambient magical energy and employing it for specific effects and finally, powers gained through the tapping of extra-dimensional energy by invoking entities or objects of power existing in mystical dimensions tangential to his own. The latter means of power is usually gained by the recitation of incantations.
Some of these effects include forming magical energy bolts with a high degree of potency and control. Erect energy shields or screens with a high degree of imperviousness to both physical and magical damage, create illusions, teleportation across the face of the Earth or into a mystical dimension, thoughtcasting over short or vast distances in a manner virtually identical with telepathy, levitation and astral projection.

The manner in which Shuma-Gorath first came into being is unclear. It was seen by Doctor Strange, as it ruled the Earth, with prehistoric men and creatures under its command, perhaps a million years ago.
Then, several millenia ago, Shuma-Gorath encountered the time-travelling magic user, Sise-Neg. Sise-Neg battled the entity, forcing Shuma-Gorath to sleep.
At around 10,000 BC, the sorcerers Kulan Gath and Vammatar succeeded to use the recovered ancient iron bound books to release Shuma-Gorath. However, a group of people prayed to Crom, an important god, who again banished Shuma-Gorath, only to wake up again in the 20th Century hungry for human souls.
It manifested itself as a presence in the mind of Dr. Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One, for it needed the Ancient One’s energies to allow it full existence on the Earth’s plane. To this end, it used unholy minions to cause several disasters around the Earth, forcing the Ancient One and his disciple Doctor Strange to investigate and fight the various monsters, and thus expend their powers while strengthening Shuma-Gorath.
Shuma-Gorath was near physical incarnation when Dr. Strange dove into the mind of the Ancient One and destroyed his ego. Without a clear conception of self, the Ancient One was useless as a vessel for Shuma-Gorath, who fled this plane. Dr. Strange believed that doing so would murder the Ancient One, and indeed the aged master’s body was stilled. But in fact, this was the key step to the Ancient One’s elevation to oneness with the universe.
But Dr. Strange once again came into conflict with Shuma-Gorath. Strange was in the depths of corruption when he and the dark sorcerer Kaluu joined battle, and he used black magic to draw on the strength and life force of some small fraction of the Earth’s population, as well as the evil essence of one of Shuma-Gorath’s more powerful servants, in order to destroy the demon.
Powers
In his native dimension, Shuma-Gorath is virtually omnipotent. He generates his own mystical power, but also draws energy, mystical or otherwise, from others. Shuma-Gorath can release destructive blasts and can manipulate magical energy on a planetary scale. He can communicate telepathically and control others, even across dimensions. Shuma’s physical characteristics vary greatly and his true form is uncertain; he usually adopts multiple tentacles and a rubbery, armored form, sometimes mountainous in size. Though Shuma can be harmed by powerful assaults, he can eventually re-form from seeming destruction, and it may be impossible to destroy him permanently.
Shuma is invoked for dark power by many beings across many dimensions.
