The Amaterasu fire spread to Karin, but it took a couple of seconds to burn through her Akatsuki cloak. She didn’t even have burns on her skin, despite how “hot” the Amaterasu is supposed to be. | |

The water didn’t boil either but the Amaterasu really doesn’t raidate heat and it’s not really fire since it’s black and fire is combineion of heat and light energy.
Clothing regularly survive super heat in fiction for no real reason.Superman’s useless cape has survived intense heat. His capes fluctuating durability was so bad they had to retcon it. But that retcon got retconned recently.
