Oh, I have compassion, Suzanne. I feel sorry for people with crappy lives, but suicide is not the answer. Don’t you agree that people have too much to live for, and that you were put on this Earth for a purpose? Think nof how many lives you’d shatter; all hose loved ones weeping, your friends, left distraght and saddened. Do you really want to do that to them? Not mention the fact that you’d never *ever* have the chance to rectify your mistakes and try to make right what went wrong.
By the way, Suzanne; I find it strange that you, an educated 44 year old with access to the internet, can’t use proper grammer and punctuation when I, a smart-ass 17 year old can. Also, isn’t 44 a tad old to be thinking of killing yourself? I mean, crap. You must’ve fucked up bad to wait till now, or your just lazy and apathetic. But maybe you’re actually thinking things through and holding off and waiting for consolation of a friend or family member. Well? Can you say I’m uncompassionate now, Suzanne?

Not everyone believes that life has a spiritual purpose. Some people do not have any loved ones or friends at all, either. There could very well be so little pleasure (or even stimulus) forthcoming that suicide may be reasonable.

I don’t believe in anything but that life is, and that’s enough for me. My philosophy and yours differ greatly, but that does not matter. I don’t care about your philosophy at all, but I do think most people would object to your treatment of Suzanne.

It was selfish of you to pat yourself on the back for your own inflated frame-of-reference while insulting her.

She was not arguing with you that suicide is not the best decision, but that you should not complain if someone who is lonely or heartbroken posts for release and companionship.

You think you are strong, I suppose. Therefore you released your own little subjectivity on the world.

I don’t think that you aren’t compassionate in some way, but I do think you are an idiot. Go discuss your games with mighty folk that never feel depression.

It is certain that a lot of people have killed themselves because it was unlikely anyone would listen with a sympathetic ear, isn’t it?

Do you understand, young man? I’m not 65 and clumsy about the happenings in my life, but 19 years old and prudent. I still feel the pain and emptiness.

Notice: I did not disagree with your belief about suicide. I did not recommend anyone kill themselves in my post at all, and hope no one will kill themselves because of my post.

You forget one important thing here, my well educated friend (apparently, I’m not the only one who can use proper gramatical form): This is... *gasp* The Internet! A place where we cannot see your face, we don’t know who you are, should probably go on the benefit of the doubt, and, in this specific place, shouldn’t be talking about suicide of all things. I do feel pain, I feel a lot of it. But I have more sense in my head than to end my life, especially when there’s time (there’s always time) to make up for it. If you really want to talk about suicide go to a suicide board. Not a movie codec and game board. The only people you’ll find here are two educated people and a plethora of “31337 haxxorz rofl”. IT brings us all down, quite frankly, and most of us don’t need it. Converse about it with the boards that talk about it.

I agree with you that this is perhaps not the place for suicide talk, but I do think that it becomes the moderator’s concern. This is the lounge and is where very nearly anything can be discussed, isn’t it?

I feel that it would be more appropriate to appeal to a moderator or administrator in private than to alienate yourself by claiming that everyone is faking their problems and should therefore stfu.

I suppose that because free speech is a big issue for this message board that nothing will be done, and there is little that can be done about this problem than to ignore it.

Sad but true. Chalk it up to a depression prone user base or blame the uppers.

I don’t really mind, and usually ignore most of them, even though I am sympathetic.

I haven’t got anymore to say, but am happy you seem a little more reasonable in your latest post. FWIW, you should forget grammar and punctuation. It’s a common theme in your posts and makes you seem a troll. You pick too many fights, Samus.

suicide...I was merley shocked by the posts left on here concerning people young and old..feeling so desperate that they wanted to take their own lives (fortunatly I have never felt this way)
but I do feel compassion for people who are hurting as i myself have hurt.
You are a very bright intellegant, and knowlageble

i agree with panzram to an extent. for starters, i didn’t even realise this was a gaming site coz of all the crap posted on here! but i also agree with suzanne, i feel sorry for these people. whether any of their crap is made up or real... something has to be going on in their lives to make them post shit like that. it just shouldn’t be done on a gaming site.

i’m sorry to hear about your illness suzanne, i hope things are going better for you now than they have been in the past. no one should have to go through an ordeal like you have. its good that you’ve got back your typing skills though!

It amazes me that some people come into threads like this and complain about reading threads like this. Is there no reason? No compassion? I guess not. In an anonymous setting such as this message board it’s pretty easy to minimalize peoples feelings, it’s easy to forget that you are talking about real people with real emotions. Which is why I find it hard to really take ANYONE seriously. It really is a shame.
