Agreed.
The locking of threads after a certain amount of time seems pointless to me. It favors short, less serious topics and is counter-productive to long term discussions which may laps in time but people still have points to contribute (I’ve seen several discussions revived very well).

Sometimes an old thread might serve to provide answers or knowledge in the right circumstances. If these threads were deleted, they would be useless, much as most of the forum would then be rendered usseless as a result.

What it comes down to is member restraint. Much like all the problems on this forum, they all stem from members not acting appropriatly or responsibly.

If only the members of this forum would actually think before posting or reviving, ninety percent of the forums so called problems would be rendered defunct.

Thats my stamd on the soap box anyhow.

I agree with this, but as some members do, such as trolls, they bump threads just to get a response from someone, or just to cause chaos.
