It’s a cannon attack, but the debate is that its real or an Illusion. With no real word on it,, and the damage reset factor in FF7 it can assumed that super nova is a real attack
the fmv doesn’t mean anything, it shows them all standing in space and the same planets being hit over and over and then it hits earth and doesn’t do anything but hurt your party.

he wasn’t “controlled” and it matters plenty when he’s up against someone who outclasses him so much. Besides the fact that Seph has never survived anything like a planet exploding, do you really think he can take a Brolly’s galaxy busting? Energy of the planet>Explosion of the planet in power. So it takes more durability to survive the actual energy of the planet than the explosion of the planet.

Freeza was half robot at that point. He had already survived a planet exploding after he was cut in half and on the brink of death and floating in space after all that for awhile. On top of that the sword if it was indeed Tapion’s was magic.

Sephiroth has survived something MORE than a planet exploding...Sigh...Yes he would die from a galaxy buster but it would have to hit him and we don’t know how long it takes to charge...There is nothing to suggest he can do it instantly like Seph can summon n. lifestream. INTANGIBILITY.
