weird guy Guest | Xbox lovers can try those, and then post me if those games suck balls. If they don’t, and they’re really good, post back and tell me that they are really good. PS2 owners. If you haven’t tried those games (which I’m sure some of you have) then get them already!!!!!!! They are worth the money, and some of them are $19.99 because they are greatest hits!! the ones that are 39.99 are Jak III and Ratchet and clank: up your Arsenal. The one that’s 49.99 is granturismo 4. It just hit stores on 2/22/05. Go and get it!!! some stores have the games for trial!!!! One of them is a store called Frys, but its in California. So, try the PS2 games people!

Buttslutt Guest | Hey guys I’m sorry to say it but xbox 360 is going to beat the ps3 in every aspect, but before xbox puts playstation out of the water they need to put nintendo out of the console industry first. Which sucks because the first xbox didn’t do that, I just heard a rumour that nintendo is coming out with a new console. For all of you playstation lovers, the ps3 is going to be good I admit, the blue-ray graphics engine is going to own, but it has nothing on the computer hard drive for the xbox. Now for xbox lovers, there are three types of the xbox coming out: xbox 360, xbox 360 with Halo 2.5 downloaded onto it, and the most expensive; xbox 360 with a hard drive, halo 2.5 downloaded onto it, and half off when you buy halo 3. As for GTA lovers and metal gear lovers I liked metal gear solid 1 and 2, and GTA 3 and 4, but now they’re done. It’s gone too far. They’re not fun anymore. If you guys want to see an example of why you’ll sell everything you own for an xbox 360, get game informer, the one that shows condemned, flip to that page where theyadvertise condemned and see if you can tell which one is the real door. My friend Kyle got it wrong. The ps3 is going to do what the ps2 did and the graphics are going to be choppy, that’s why I like xbox, it runs very smoothly.

Buttslutt Guest | “Halo 2.5 will be an Xbox 2 launch title and is going to run in HDTV resolution with new, improved textures and graphical effects. All the stuff that people expected from Halo 2 but didn’t make the cut will be there.”
(Can you imagine Halo 2 running at 1280x720?!)
“The technology that powers Halo 2 has been designed from day one to take advantage of the next generation hardware, in Halo 2, the Xbox was pushed to its limits but now the game will reach new heights with the advanced hardware.”
“Now, here is the twist. Halo 2.5 will come preloaded with the optional HDD. It’ll be one of the two reasons to get the Xbox 2 that comes with a hard drive. The other reason… well, you’ll just have to wait”
read about the three versions of the xbox 360 here

PS2 people. Go try Project Gotham racing (1 and 2) or Shenmue.

weird guy Guest | Here’s a list of Xbox exclusives that are really good:
Halo 2 (obviously)
Oddworld: Stranger’s wrath
Shenmue (1&2)
Unreal Championship
Forza Motorsport (I’ve only played a demo)
Fatal Frame II: director’s cut
words of wisdom for Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube owners:
don’t critize/make fun of something until you’ve tried it. And by the way, I’m 11 years old.

weird guy Guest | sorry for posting a lot. But, I have something to say that I think a lot of people will agree with. ALMOST ALL XBOX OR PS2 FANS WHO HAVE POSTED HERE HAVE PROBABLY NEVER TRIED THE GAMES I’VE MENTIONED IN MY LIST. THEY’VE PROBABLY NEVER PLAYED ANY OF THOSE GREATEST HITS GAMES, AND YET THEY GO ON SAYING THERE ARE NO GOOD GAMES FOR PS2, AND THAT SONY JUST IS DOING THIS FOR THE MONEY. BUT, THOSE SAME PEOPLE
PROBABLY PLAYED A PLAYSTATION AND THEY SAID IT WAS GOOD, BECAUSE THEY’VE ACTUALLY PLAYED A FEW GOOD GAMES ON IT. BUT, THE XBOX LOVERS HAVE PROBABLY NEVER PLAYED ANY OF THE GAMES I MENTIONED. SAME GOES FOR PS2 ONWERS. THEY NEVER TRY AND OF THE REALLY GOOD GAMES BESIDES HALO 2. If they actually did, they wouldn’t fall to the trait of making false accusations because they’ve never used the other person’s system (Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, PC). Can you people stop doing that for once????? Otherwise, all of these accusations are going to be full of lies and stretched truths. What we read isn’t always true, people. You should look at the official stats on a website that is known to have accurate or correct news. Or, better yet, wait for Xbox2 and PS3 to come out, and try them both (also try gamerevolution from nintendo). That’s all for now.

weird guy Guest | here’s the specs for one of the next-gen consoles (PS3) if any of you were wondering. I’m not exactly sure if these are correct, so don’t kill me if they aren’t.
*PS3 Specs*
cpu: cell processor that has 9 cores, that at their highest speed can run at a whopping 4.7/4.6 Ghz(Giga herdz).
gpu: Nvidia No specs on the gpu(graphics processing unit/graphics card: ati radeon 9800 pro, Nvidia Gforce 6800, etc.) revealed.
ram: 512 for the main processsor, and 256 for the cores.
media: Blu-ray disks. 1 layer disks contain about 23-25 gigs of space. 2 layer disks contain 47-51 gigs.

Some person Guest | oh quit it with those “this is better then that” and the “this is better then that”... it aint about the systems nor halo or GTA... It’s about all of the OTHER games out there....and if Halo 3 comes out when the PS3 comes out... yeah people would go for Halo 3 and Xbox 2 (or watever it’s called), but wat happens if Halo 3 sux (like....nothing new, boring.. ect)...but if it’s really good, ...M$ may have an advantage over Sony and blah blah blah... But we dont know yet... so dont try to talk about things you dont know and wait until it comes out.... But to me... Nintendo may have a bigger advantage over this...

ANNONYMOUS TIPStER Guest | here tare the xbox2 official speculations these are legit.
Speculation
The code name for Xbox 2 is 'Xenon'.
Possible release names for Xbox 2 are Xbox FS, Xbox 247, Xbox 360, Xbox NE, Xbox EV, Xbox HD (not likely!) and Xbox E. 'Nextbox' is very unlikely...
The Xbox 2 is Microsoft’s second-generation game console, and is expected to be released in late 2005 or early 2006.
Xenon will be powered by a three core 3.5+ GHz IBM PowerPC processor and a 500+ MHz ATI graphics processor.
Xenon will have 256+ MB of unified memory.
Xenon will run a custom operating system based on MS Windows NT, similar to the Xbox operating system.
Xbox 2 will have HD video output.
The Xbox 2 controller will only be a refinement of the original.
Microsoft have been purported to have 'leaked' an initial specification for Xbox 2 / Xenon.
Microsoft will get to the market before Sony launches Playstation 3.

ANNONYMOUS TIPStER Guest | ALSO SOME LEGIT INFORMATION FOR U AS BONUS!!!
Highlights from the xbox 2 (xenon) scheme report...
'The Xbox 2 – the project code-named Xenon – is said to be powered by a triple-core 3.50GHz or faster IBM PowerPC processor and a 500MHz or faster ATI graphics processor, has 256MB or more of unified memory, runs a custom operating system based on Microsoft Windows NT, similar to the Xbox operating system. The graphics interface is claimed to be a superset of the Direct3D version 9.0.'
'The Xbox 2’s central processing unit is a custom processor based on PowerPC technology. The CPU includes three independent processors (cores) on a single die. Each core runs at 3.50GHz speed of faster. The Xbox 2 microprocessor can issue two instructions per clock cycle per core. At peak performance, Xenon can issue 21 billion instructions per second.'
'Microsoft will use IBM’s POWER 64-bit processors in the Xbox 2. The 65nm chips were reportedly taped-out recently and are now evaluated by engineers at Microsoft and IBM, though, the architecture of those microprocessors still remains to be investigated.'
'Microsoft wants to incorporate IBM’s POWER 976 architecture into the CPUs for Xbox 2 console to allow truly high-performance processing. POWER 976 is expected to be a dual-core processor able to handle two threads at once. What may seem a pretty hard to believe is that Microsoft wants more than 1 such chip to power its forthcoming console, according to the scheme published there are three of such chips.'
'The graphics processor of the Xbox 2 is to be developed by ATI Technologies, the I/O controller is to be developed by Silicon Integration Systems Corporation.'
'Xbox 2 Graphics Processor to Use Shader Model 3.0'
'The shader core has 48 Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs) that can execute 64 simultaneous threads on groups of 64 vertices or pixels. ALUs are automatically and dynamically assigned to either pixel or vertex processing depending on load. The ALUs can each perform one vector and one scalar operation per clock cycle, for a total of 96 shader operations per clock cycle. Texture loads can be done in parallel to ALU operations. At peak performance, the GPU can issue 48 billion shader operations per second.'
'Microsoft’s future console is designed for HDTV output. In order to fit 720p frame-buffer inside the chip, a special 10MB or larger on-die embedded dynamic RAM (EDRAM) buffer will be incorporated. Larger frame-buffers are also possible because of hardware-accelerated partitioning and predicated rendering that has little cost other than additional vertex processing. Along with the extremely fast EDRAM, the GPU also includes hardware instructions for alpha blending, z-test, and antialiasing.'
'The Xbox 2 will have 256MB or more of unified memory, equally accessible to both the GPU and CPU.'
'The Xbox 2 central processing unit is a superb processor for audio, particularly with its massive mathematical horsepower and vector register set. The microprocessor can process and encode hundreds of audio channels with sophisticated per-voice and global effects, all while using a fraction of the power of a single CPU core.
'The Xenon console is designed around a larger world view of storage than Xbox was. Games will have access to a variety of storage devices, including connected devices (memory units, USB storage) and remote devices (networked PCs, Xbox Live). At the time of this writing, the decision to include a built-in hard disk in every Xenon console has not been made. If a hard disk is not included in every console, it will certainly be available as an integrated add-on component, Microsoft said.'
'The Xenon game disc drive is a 12x DVD, with an expected outer edge throughput of 16MB/sec. Latency is expected to be in the neighbourhood of 100ms. The media format will be similar to Xbox, with approximately 6GB of usable space on the disk. As on Xbox, media will be stored on a single side in two 3GB layers.'
'The standard Xbox 2 controller will have a look and feel similar to the Xbox controller. The primary changes are the removal of the Black and White buttons and the addition of shoulder buttons. The triggers, thumbsticks, D-pad, and primary buttons are essentially unchanged. The controller will support vibration.'

weird guy Guest | thanks for the xbox2 specs. by the way, do you any of you think that there’s a pattern in people’s thinking about H2 (halo2) and GTA: SA (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas)? I mean, some guy says that GTA has no replayability. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!! That game has some of the most replayability I’ve seen in a game! I mean, the number of things that there are in GTA: SA (sky diving, riding in an airplane, even playing basketball!) and they’re all pretty fun! And, people who say Halo2’s story is crap have obviously not played a lot of games. Halo2’s story is one of the better Humans vs. Aliens sci-fi stories that are out in games. another good Human vs. Aliens game would be Blizzard’s classic, Starcraft.
