Now I’ve been wondering this for quite sometime...Now I know not literally everyone hates it but you guys get what I mean right?
People go around saying “Rap is crap” or something along those lines, yet they probably don’t even listen to the good songs. It may not be my favorite genre of music, but come on, it’s not a crappy genre. I don’t think any genre is “Crappy."
discuss.

The 1st thing i hear everytime people complain about rap is “it’s nothing but ho’s, bitches and money” and i feel like slapping the shit out of them.
Thats what we call “Steriotypical rap” while there is songs like that out there, most are not about that at all. Sure, a good bit involve killing someone, but at least there is some kind of emotion or story to it. Like “Kim” by Eminem.
The girl cheated on him and he just lost it and killed her. It wasn’t like he just randomly killed her because she didn’t give him money or something as you would find in the “Steriotypical” rap.

You get it too people who hate rap just listen to the mainstream crap. Anothe thing they say is “It’s just the same beat over and over it has no creativity” the beat is just a tool for the rapper to put more meaning to his words because its he words the poetry with music that he’s trying to put out.

I will quote someone I very much like “Rap is one of the most creative, interesting brands of music out there today”- Kurt Cobain
And you are correct, and for one I like the beats to the songs, and they are hardly the 'same' beats. If you really want to get technically, their favorite artists probably are recycling beats from older music too.
I believe all music speaks in some way or the other to people no matter what the genre, and no matter if I don’t 'like' the music I at least respect it because more than likely there is someone out there who listens to that and is touched by it. Music can be a very deep thing.

Those who say they hate rap have only listened to a couple of rap songs, thinking that that’s all that rap is about, listening to some shit like Soulja Boy, etc, without really knowing what rap music is about.
