Jomas - The bible hasnt been around forever. It is about 1600 years old as it was recorded around 500 years after the supposed birth of Christ.

The only religion I have had thoughts of joining after my atheism “conversion” via the God Delusion was possibly the Aztec religion because of the fulfilled prophecy of the end of their civilization via Quetzalcoatl who was said to be a man with a white beard riding on a 4 legged beast.

He was said to arrive in 1528. And he did in the guise of Hernán Cortés, who was a white man with a beard. He brought about the end of the Aztec civilization and the prophecy was fulfilled.

In the year 1528 wink

And the result would most likely be worship. As long as the man was white. You have to understand that the Toltec people of Mexico had never seen a white man before. He would probably have the appearance of an Angel to the people. Their “thunder sticks” or guns didn’t do much to change that assumption.

Or a far more likely idea is that he never existed at all? Just like the Roman gods we now consider myth and the Greek gods the Romans consider myths and so on and so forth down the line of history.

Sooner or later Yahweh is going the way of Jupiter and Baal and I will not be sad to see him go.

Well, basically, Dean doesn’t believe in God, and yet he believes in demons, spirits, etc. And at the end of last season, he goes to hell for making a deal with crossroads demon to save his brother’s life. And at the start of this season, he was brought back from hell by an angel, and yet he asked the question, why doesn’t God help us?

I love Major’s quote from Hellsing.

Sort off. But if hell existed in the Supernatural universe then it would go without saying that God would have to exist too.
