I watched most of the first vid but I can tell you right now that is a load of bullshit coming from pen and teller of all people who are obviously experienced with diet. Listen, American food is great, most of Americans are descendants from Europe. So tell me why the fuck europe has one of the lowest obesity rates? Why the fuck does Canada? Shit they’re basically the same genetics as the U.S.. If I stopped my workout routine and continued to eat the way I do, I’d be one fat ass mother fucker. And yes, I will fuck your mom. ---

I’ve seen my body fluctuate over the years so there’s no excuse for body type and genetics. I’ve seen many people completely change their body with a little effort each day.
That’s because you were never purely an ectomorph. Your body type isn’t necessarily based upon how “thin” you are.
An ectomorph is a very fragile body type with often a delicate bone structure. They have a hard time gaining weight at all and have problems putting on muscle.
Mesomorphs on the other hand can both gain fat and muscle fairly easily. But, because they are more muscular, they can also lose easily with a change in activity.
Now almost everyone falls in between these 2 categories...so you might be an ecto mesomorph (for example). But your body and bone structure does not suddenly “change” (diseases excepted).
Here’s some more info.:

I enjoy being mainly a mesomorph myself. Yes it’s not fun to put on weight easily just by changing diet or fitness, but it’s nice to be able to lose easily by doing the same.
But not every body type can do this. ---

It’s a little past 10:00 PM my time. I’m drunk and consumed many beers (That’s a shit load of calories). Now I’m fucking hungry and have the munchies. I don’t feel like cooking.
My options are as follows:
A- left over dinner (lasagna and buttered down garlic bread).
B- A shit load of Zucchini that’s needs to be eaten.
C- Fuckin' Rockey road Ice cream and kick back in front of a movie before I fall to sleep.
I pick “C” but I should go with “B”. In fact, I think I will go with the Zucchini tonight. However, I can’t even dip it in ranch according to this guy. Oh fuck it! I’ll work it off tomorrow. Haha ---

A bit of what you just said is correct, as for the bold part I bolded the Its easier to gain fat being more muscular (unless I read it wrong?).
Well this is 100% false, muscle consumes calories which makes it very hard to get fat. Lets say.. a 180 pound fat kid ate 4000 calories- the majority of it would go to his stomach, instead of lets say a 180 pound athlete- his muscles would consume most of the fat.
Anywhoo.. you can change your body type whenever you want. Its about mind -set. Heck look at “the biggest losers” they are obese but they still have the heart to shed pounds. Now they will never be muscle or covergirl models but they can achieve a healthy bodyweight/ body fat percentage. --- ““Do or do not... there is no try.”." -Yoda

No I wasn’t saying that “if you’re muscular you can gain fat easily”. I was saying that a mesomorph is a body type that can gain fat easily.
They gain fat if they start eating more than their body consumes or if they’re exercising less. They gain muscles if they’re exercising more or if they modify their diet. The same is true of everyone, of course, only mesomorphs do this easier than ectomorphs.
I’m not arguing that people can gain or lose weight. That’s pretty self-evident. But your underlying body TYPE (i.e. if you have a dense bone structure, if you have a light bone structure, etc.) can’t be changed like that. If you read the info. about the different body types it might make more sense .
So yes - an ectomorph can gain weight...but it’s much more difficult for them. A mesomorph both gains and loses fairly easily. An endomorph has a harder time losing weight. All 3 types can modify their bodies, however how they do so and how easily they do so varies according to their body structure. ---

Bone structures have little to to do with how fat accumilates on the body’s frame. “big boned” people are usually refered to as fat because they are fat. Bones dont make you fat, bones dont make you skinny and the dont get in the way of losing or gaining muscle/fat. Bones are there to support the organs that deal with that.
If a heavily over weight male was trying to get from 300 pounds to 150. Well that is impossible because a) his bones will not shrink and b) his attire and body frame would be so disfigured it would be stupid. Is that what you are tryin to say Etain?

(No I’m not repeating what you’re saying, but you probably need to understand the concept of different body “types” first). ---

So then you do understand the difference between ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph then? And the particular challenges each one faces with fitness?
If so then I’m not sure what you were taking issue with lol. ---

Yeah but you took issue with me saying that Mesomorphs can both gain muscle and fat easily. Then I explained how that can happen (change in diet or exercise) and described the differences between the types, etc.
I wasn’t saying that people build muscle and gain fat at the same time...but perhaps you misunderstood and thought that I was when I was merely explaining what a mesomorph is?
Oh yeah and I did miss what you said on the first page. So perhaps it’s blonde moments all around lol. ---

I just read it wrong, no biggy.
When you look at a football team, you will see every type of “morph” there is. Offense/Defence linebacker’s are normally Endo’s while the Running backs are Either Meso or Ecto’s and the Qb are Mes’os. --- ““Do or do not... there is no try.”." -Yoda
